ANOTHER example of Danny's slickly sold a great "service", but not standing behind their work. I took my vehicle in to be detailed on 11-11-11 after being in stored for over a year and a half with an RV cover on it. It was dusty and needed a wash. I was sold on a detail job for a reduced rate as it was going to rain and they were very slow. I also had the oil changed, and was sold a warranty on my interior and exterior surfaces. I assume this warranty company advocates a certain process and removal of scratches to a degree. [ *Note: To keep the warranty valid, Danny's has to maintain the finish monthly generating more business. I was also offered free washes to amend a damaged vehicle. No chance I can trust the company, especially when they will not owe up to the damage they caused and repair it as necessary.]

Upon picking up the vehicle the first thing I noticed was the paint had been removed in defined areas on the vinyl exterior door trim. This caused me to examine the rest of the trim to find that it all had the same removed paint with red stain from rubbing compound. I brought this to the attention of the manager, Joey McDaniel who told me that it could't have been his fault and that it was caused from the sun, impossible and illogical but it removed any perceived responsibility from Danny's.

In knowing that this was completely side stepping the evident paint removal by mechanical means, I have attempted to resolve the matter with Danny's general managers: someone named Brian, Rick Dodge, and was referred to Adam Wheatley-but never heard from him. Not one "general manager" can refer me to their superiors to resolve the issue. Rick Dodge, claims the same line of side stepping that his store manager, Joey McDaniel took; and told me that I could take the matter to "court".

I have taken the time to see about what it would take to fix the damaged trim to two body shops.  Both shops unbiasedly told me they have seen this as a result of over polishing. The molding needs to be replaced to fix it properly. My estimate ranged from $564.15 to $754.35. The seriousness of this matter sunk in after knowing how much it was going to cost to repair the damage. I expect this to be resolved in a professional manner to avoid further damages and costs that I will incur to be included in the resolution of what could be a simple solution that suits both parties.

I will repost any further action by either party as it occurs.

Amended with repair

AUTHOR: Cjbrenner - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, November 28, 2011

I was recently contacted by a gentleman representing Danny's and he reviewed the damage claim. After asserting that the amendment to the situation was still not considered to be at fault by the car wash, he directed me to a repair facility that fixed the damaged trim. I am satisfied that in the end, the right thing was done, and indeed repaired to original or better than original condition. Thank you, Danny's for taking care of a long time customer!
