I moved out of the apartment in better condition than when I moved in, and the property manager said he'd send me my security deposit soon. I gave them more than twice the amount of time legally allowed by California Civil Code 1950.5 to send my deposit, but they never did. So I called about it, and they were just rude and dismissive, pretending to take down my information but apparently not doing so because every time I called back, they acted like they had never heard of me.

After months, I finally wasted my time going into their office to demand my deposit, and at that time, they revealed that I was not alone, and that they had not sent the security deposits to a ton of other people listed in their books. (As if the fact that they're defrauding lots of other people too makes it okay?)

Because I demanded it, they finally sent a partial deposit, but they included a fraudulant list of deductions that wasn't even relevant because they missed their window to withhold deductions according to California law. In order to pretend that this was not the case, they fradulantly backdated the list of deductions, claiming that the check was issued July 15, which is obviously a lie because the date on the check itself is Sep. 23.

They know they legally owe me the rest of my deposit, but another phone call accomplished nothing. The b***h who answered just said she would leave a message with her boss and refused to give me any time frame for hearing back.
