I regret to admit that I am a former employee of Everest College and once apart of their big rip off! This company entices it's employees with a generous compensation and puts them through numerous test to measure their morality. This company however, has nothing to do with morals and everything to do with money. They teach the employees to target single mothers and students that have GED's. They feel that single mothers will be so desperate to make more money and provide a living for their children that they will be willing to do anything, and the GED students will be less likely to read the "fine print," and probably have no knowledge of college so they will therefore be easily manipulated. A degree is not required for an individual to be an admissions rep there as the only requirement is sales experience. By law you cannot even call them admissions advisors because all they are is sales people. The instructors cannot be referred to as teachers or professor because many of them do not have the appropriate qualifications. You do not need to be certified to teach or even have a degree to be an "instructor" at Everest. All you need is 2 or more years of experience in the health field. You can be a Medical Assitant for a few years and get a job teaching at Everest!

Because of the underqualified staff, the classes are not eligible for accreditation. We were taught to avoid any questions about accredition if we were asked. We were told that if a student asks if we are accredited to just say yes and we aren't lying because the school itself is accredited. However, the classes are not accredited which means that you can never be state certified. Most students don't find this out until after they take the class and attempt to take the state exam. They find out that they can only become registered and not certified. Anyone in the field knows that in order to make money as a MA you must be certified. You can't even transfer your credits earned with Everest because of the accreditation issue. They put pressure on the employees and tell them that withholding information is not the same as lying and that if they don't read and do their own research, Oh well! They even enroll students that don't have a high school diploma or a GED. No other college on Earth would do this! In order to work in the field you need to at least have a GED so what is the benefit of enrolling these students???? That's right, MONEY!

This job stressed me out to the point that I have to see a therapist because I began having panick attacks. Even when an Everest commerical came on I would start shaking. It is my aim to expose this company for the scam that they are and to prevent anymore students from ruining their lives or their credit and wasting their time.

Everest degrees are worthless

AUTHOR: hoapres - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, May 13, 2012

Everest degrees are worthless.  Almost no employer considers it as a real diploma.  The new Federal financial guidelines prohibit aid to those that don't have a GED or High School Diploma.
