Firestone Tire & Service Center Repair Center Lafayette, Indiana

My sisters vehicle has some trouble in Lafayette, IN.  She had the vehicle towed to the nearest Firestone, knowing it was a national name she figured she would get a fair shake compared to others.  After the 20 minutes of diagnosis it was figured out that the fuel pump had went out on the vehicle.  He told her that the part alone would be 900.00(with some checking I found the entire fuel pump assembly at my local auto parts store for less than 200.00.)   

I am all for a fair price for a part even with some markup, I mean everyone has to eat, but I believe 700.00 markup on just the part is outlandish.  I told her just to tow it back home and have a local shop do the work.  The total price, parts+labor at our local shop was a little over 500.00.  He was not very happy when he was told we were taking the vehicle elsewhere, he thought he was going to rip my sister off and get away with it? Nope not gonna happen sir.
