We recently hired "Flawless" to paint our living room from the tradition stained wood panels to a light cream color with an accent color for the trims. We understood that it wasn't regular painting over drywall and we made sure with the owner Scott that it was something they could handle. He promised flawless results and gave detailed instructions to his foreman with the home owner present.

A two person crew came sans the foreman the next day to prime and prepare the room. The foreman came on the 2nd day with another painter to pick up where the other guys left off. And then again they were replace by the 1st crew the day after. We noticed right away that the work they were doing showed signs of sloppy workmanship partly as a result of this inconsistency. For example, they would paint over the dirt and dust left on the surfaces after sanding without cleaning them up first. We contacted Scott in the morning of the 3rd day wanting him to come check the work before another work day started. He said he was "out of town" and therefore unable to come. And so the shoddy work continued.

In a nutshell, in an attempt to stop this project from turning into a total disaster, we had to constantly check on the progress and were embarrassed and exhausted having to tell, over and over again, the painters to fix the problems as they occurred. Even so, their work turned out sub par at its best. A three-day job turned into a full week of extreme stress and headaches for us! On the last day, we had to coerce Scott the owner to come for a final walk through by withholding the payment! The foreman came for a final touch-up the next day as if to put band-aids on a terminally ill. We will NEVER use "Flawed Painting" again!

New Photo Link!

The photos of shoddy work by "Flawed Painting" I uploaded on Yelp have been removed by the business. Nice scrambling Scott Seizure! But you do NOT control the Internet. Here's a new link to the photos.

Let The Fact Speaks for Itself!

AUTHOR: SheddyPoo - ()

The owner of "Flawed Painting" was so shameless as to make up lies in an attempt to rebuttal an unhappy customer's complaints. It speaks volumes of about him and his deceptive business practices. I've arrived at the conclusion that he's not worthy of my breath or words, so let the photographic evidences of their shoddy work speak for themselves!

Fact Fudging!

AUTHOR: SheddyPoo - ()

As the aforementioned customer, I was surprised and put off by the rebuttal from the business owner. I don't know what kind of reality he lives in but in mine, it was a week of extreme stress and trauma for me. Anyone who's live lived through a home improvement project will attest to that. The statement about me being "clearly expressed that I was very pleased with the final painting at the completion” is an outright lie. On the contrary, I refused to pay and demanded a final walk-through with the owner so that I could show him just how shoddy the final results were, during which I expressed only dissatisfaction and upset!

The only reasons for my writing the check after the final touch-ups are as followed:

  • Though appalled by the shoddy work, I thought it was a lost cause. The entire job was hastily done, without a well thought-out plan. It was painful to watch them trying to fix problems, over and over again, as a result of carelessness and incompetence that could have been easily avoided with a little thought!

  • The foreman seemed to be a nice and timid man albeit incompetent and lacking necessary language skills to communicate. He would not leave my house without the paycheck and I was simply too embarrassed and distraught to keep beating a dead horse!

That said, I do understand, however, that it is of the best interest of the business to make any complaint a no-issue by distorting and fudging the facts. Moreover, I will not relive the trauma by having "Flawed Painting" come back to yet again try to fix the problems that remains self-evident to this day. What I will do is post photos of their shoddy work on the Internet for the world to see should they become so desperate and shameless as to deny any responsibility at all.

Last but not the least, a heads up to all prospective customers out there: The owner Scott is a professional salesman whose only job is give quote and promises. You normally see his holiness twice in total, the first time giving you the quote and the second time giving instructions to his foreman before the job starts. He won't even show up at the end to collect the final payment. The foreman does that. Consider yourself blessed (or cursed) if you see him more than that!

Troubling Complaint | Customer was Pleased at the Completion | Never Contact Us with Issues Noted

AUTHOR: Flawless Painting LLC - ()

As the owner of Flawless Painting, I take a complaint like this very seriously. I sincerely regret that the customer is unhappy with the results of their recent painting project. However at the completion of the project, the customer personally expressed to me how pleased and appreciative they were of our work and the final results. Generally, when one of our customers has an issue or question following a project, they will contact or call us to request a follow-up visit to discuss and resolve the issue.

To my knowledge, this customer has never contacted or called us to discuss their issue. This customer originally contracted us in 2012 to help them with a Master Bathroom that required extensive dry wall repairs and painting. They had unsuccessfully tried to patch the dry wall which became a bigger problem. We performed the work within a day and they were elated that we were able to repair and restore the bathroom. At the end of the project, they requested a preliminary quote for painting the wainscoting panels and trim in their living room.

When I did the final walk-through on the completion for their living room project, the customer expressed how happy they were with the final results. She was very appreciative of how responsive I was to her concerns including the crew I brought back the following morning to complete her requested "touch-ups." We adjusted our crew schedule to insure her "punch out list" was completed on the same day. Plus, she never mentioned any of the items that are noted in this complaint.

Project Details

The project required painting their stain grade wainscoting in their living room, including the trim. We carefully explained that when paint is applied to stain grade wood, that the grain and any imperfections will still be visible and will not be a picture perfect finish. The customer said they completely understood and agreed to our final proposal with all the changes requested. I explained the project would take approximately 3 to 4 days. (We never promise a deadline due to the fact as with any home painting project, that there may be additional customer changes or repairs that become evident once we start prepping the home.)

The customer originally specified a blue metallic paint, which she supplied for the 1'' trim framing the wainscoting. Once we had completed the first wall, she didn't like the color once she saw it applied. She asked us to change it to a light blue, non-metallic paint, which we gladly accommodated her request. We repainted and I even discounted the cost to repaint it for her.

Upon prepping the room, our crew found wood rot under a palladium window which required additional repairs for replacing the damaged trim. The customer asked us to do some touch up painting in her dining room. And she asked us to replace a few pieces of shoe molding that had been incorrectly cut when it was originally installed which we replaced and repainted. As with every project, we kept her informed daily of any changes and submitted a detailed list including all pricing for her final approval before completing the additional work.

When the customer contacted me regarding her concerns for the project I was unfortunately out of town. In no way, did I perceive that I was being coerced to meet with her based on a threat of non-payment. On the contrary, once I returned to Atlanta, I re-arranged my schedule to meet with her immediately and discuss her issues. At that time, I even told her to not give me the final payment until we completed her "punch out" list and was completely satisfied with the final results.
On arrival, I carefully noted all of her concerns and I returned the following morning at 9:30 am, as promised, with a crew to touch-up the areas she had addressed. I even found additional areas that we touched-up as well. I insisted she inspect the final areas noted for her final approval. I scheduled two of our painters to complete the touch-up work that day which took approximately 4 to 5 hours. She clearly expressed that she was very pleased with the final painting and wrote us a check for the final payment. In no way, was I or members of my crew under the impression that they were unhappy or displeased with the final outcome which is why this complaint is so troubling.

Since the customer is obviously now displeased with our services rendered, I recommend they contact me personally to schedule an appointment to review their issues and hopefully resolve them to their satisfaction. As of today, we still have not been contacted by either one of them by phone, email or traditional mail.

If you check our references, web site and history with the Better Business Bureau, you will find that we are a company of integrity and take extreme pride in providing high quality, custom painting for thousands of home owners and businesses in metropolitan Atlanta for over 13 years. We realize that pleasing everyone 100% of the time may be difficult but this is our intention 100% of the time.

Sincerely,
Scott Csaszar, CEO
Flawless Painting, LLC
