Forward Van Lines was scheduled to move me from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Sarasota, Florida on a one day move.  They were to arrive by 8:00 am on June 30th. They were expected to load everything by noon and head to the west coast of Florida and arrive by 5:00 PM. Unfortunately, the truck showed up 3 hours late at almost 11:00 AM.  The workers told me they were having issues locating a semi truck and I think it's because the company doesn't actually own any semi trucks. When they showed up, it appeared to be rented because it had no Moving Compnay name or markings.  The delay made my job run two days requiring me to stay overnight in a hotel. After only being on the job for about two hours, all men were taking an hour break. I paid for 5 men and a semi and on day one, 7 men showed up because three of the seven guys didn't work.  I was really down one man so that made day one take even longer.

The Semi Driver remained in his air-conditioned cab most of the time and the other two worthless workers were his sons. They did virtually nothing but break my belongings and walk around looking confused. One of the boys told me he had just had a wrist operation and wasn't supposed to lift anything but he needed a paycheck. His younger brother would stand around and do nothing. After catching all the men take excessive breaks and watching them drag/boxes down a set a stairs and literally hearing things break, I called their boss whose name was Roei. He was very nice and attentive and stopped much of the shenanigans with one phone call but that coulnn't erase what had already transpired.

On day two when they came to deliver my contents, they arrived over 1 1/2 hours late and with only with 5 men this time (three of which were the same ones from the previous day that didn't work). Their excuse for being late was that the truck had a governor and could only go 60 mph. Only two men worked the entire day. Those two were Brian & Andrew and they worked their butts off and did a good job. I asked Brian why they didn't complain to the boss that the others weren't working and they seemed afraid to make waves.  Again, because the other three didn't work, the delivery took longer than what was quoted because the three men I paid for did nothing; in essence, I only had 2 men doing the job of 5. When they finished they told me my balance was zero and left and when I called the next day to complain to Roei about the whole experience, he tried to say I still owed $900.

Furthermore, after unpacking, I found dozens of broken items, two broken/non working very expensive TV's and one very expensive watch mysteriously disappeared from one of my boxes. Within a couple of days I received a call from Ruth at Forward saying she was in quality control and wanted to know if I was pleased with my move. After filling her in with all that happened, she became horrified and said they would do something about it and apologized profusely. She called me the next day and said they would process a claim only if I paid the $900 balance which sounds a lot like extortion to me.

This company was the absolute worst that I have ever used and all those great reviews that you see on-line must be manufactured by the Forward Van Lines. There is no way you can screw up a move any worse than mine and it just be a coincidence or one time event. They are not as good as the reviews indicate and I wouldn't recommend them to anybody.  They sound great on the phone and willing to please from Nerva to Roei & Guy but the truth is, my move didn't go well and they tried to screw me in the end by trying to collect more money and then wouldn't honor any claims for the breakage, non working TV's or stolen watch.  I have reported them  to the police as well

Rebuttal to Mr. Feig Complaint

AUTHOR: Guy - ()

POSTED: Thursday, January 22, 2015

Forward Van Lines is responding to the customer's complaint one by one to clarify the issues the customer is having with the company. The customer was picked up on 6/30/14. Jeff feig the customer was told on multiple occasions by sales representative that his move would not be completed in one day, with the amount of drive time to Sarasota and loading of semi trailer, it is impossible for any company to complete this task, we are speaking of 4200 cubic feet to be loaded, driven to destination and unload at delivery.

The company provided the customer with a window for pick-up between 8am to 10 am on 6/28/2014 for pick-up on 6/30/14. the company arrived an hour late from the window that was provided to the customer, we take full responsiblity for being late after providing the customer with a window for pick-up. The customer assumed the loading of the truck would be completed by 12 pm even though the company provided a two hour window that ends at 10am.

On the day of the move the company did receive complaints in regards to the movers and we took action immediately by sending a manager onsite to resolve the issue. When a manager was onsite the only complaint that was addressed was with the movers taking excessive breaks. There was no mention of any boxes being dragged or dropped by the movers until 2 weeks later on 7/14/14 when the customer Mr. Feig brought that issue to the attention of the company.

The day before the delivery the company advised the customer the window for delivery is between 8am to 10am, the movers arrived at destination at 10:30 am. Again the customer is not taking into consideration the window provided. Forward Van Lines acknowledges where we dropped ball and how we dropped the ball regarding Mr.Feig's move, the company has not made any excuses for the mistakes we have made. but, there is certain situations in the customer's complaint that are not entirely true.

The company has been in communication with the customer regarding his complaint regarding pick-up issues, delivery issues, damages to furniture and his very expensive watch that disappaered. We have not collected the $900.00 balance due to              the issues the customer had at pick-up and delivery. The company has sent out a claim forms to the customer this way he can fill out in regards to damages that has occured. Forward Van Lines has not received any phone calls from any police agents in regards to the missing watch.

Forward Van Lines stands by the fact we have been in business for the past 19 years, we have never been on Rip Off Report and any complliants that has been filed against us on any otrher websites has been responded to and resolved to the best of our abilities. This is an error on everyone's part that could have been prevented and we are making the necessary arrangments to do so.

The company will continue to stay in communication with Mr. Feig until we come to a resolution, the  lines of communication will remain open.
