My name is Mrs. Cameron from Surrey; I am a widow in my 70s. Hearing of this site, I am telling people about my horrible experience with Simon from GC Heating.

In May 2011 I was called by ProGas and Heating for my annual furnace servicing. An appointment was made for May 21, 2011, ProGas informed me that they had hired a sub contractor to help service their customers and I would be serviced by GC Heating this year. Trusting ProGas because I had never had a problem with them in 12 years I thought nothing of it. On May 21, 2011 as expected GC Heating knocked at my door and I let in a gentlemen call Simon.

25 minutes later, Simon had finished servicing my furnace and informed me the inducer fan was coming apart and should be replaced and my main blower motor was also noisy and should be replaced. Knowing the inducer fan had a problem because it was making a terrible noise I gave Simon the go ahead to repair my inducer fan only.

Before proceeding Simon asked for payment of the servicing and a $300 cash deposit for the inducer fan repair. Like a silly fool I agreed and paid Simon $400 cash, he said he would return later that day to do the repair. Needless to say, Simon did not return later that day, nor any other day for that matter. After many failed attempts at trying to contact Simon I called ProGas to find out what was happening and where my inducer fan was including Simon.  ProGas informed me; they had no information from Simon about any inducer fan repair or my $300 and said they would look into it. After weeks of waiting I was told there was nothing ProGas could do. ProGas informed me they had an invoice from Simon for $99.00 only and that they trusted Simon and could not do anything without documented proof.

On February 1, 2012 I was contacted by Eddie Lowe from ProGas. I was informed Simon from GC Heating had been fired December 2011 for doing repairs of ProGas customers without informing ProGas and pocketing the money.

Mr. Lowe said this was not the first time Simon had been caught doing repairs and pocking the money and over 60 complaints had recently surfaced related to GC Heating and that Simon and his brother Wilson had been misleading and lying to him all the way along.

He now believed my story about the $300 and would help me.

On February 24, 2012 ProGas came to my home, re-serviced my furnace (it took 1 hour) I paid $119.95. They fixed my inducer fan with no further charge. Upon inspection there was nothing wrong with my blower motor.

Sincerely

L Cameron

Fake reports and fake profiles by disgruntled ex business partner

AUTHOR: David - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 24, 2018

i came accross these postings about Simon and his former company and was immediately concerned as this did not fit the Simon i have gotten to know since he replaced the gas furnace for my girlfriend Earlier this year.  His price came in at $2,000 lower than a friend of a family member who claimed to have a connection with a local supplier.  I was impressed with the speed in which they were able to do the job which included removal of the old furnace and installation of the new furnace.

Earlier this week the hot water heater started to leak. The son in law being a plumber determined the tank needed to be replaced. Fortunately it still had a year on the warranty.  I spoke with the original installer. He wanted to charge $400 plus a warranty admin fee and taxes. The son in law was too busy to get on this right away so I gave Simon a call. I was going to call him anyways as there was a strange noise coming from the attic where Simon had installed venting piping for the furnace.  Since he was coming out to check on that problem we discussed the hot water heater issue. He quoted me $250 to do the same job!

Simon was able to come over today with only two days notice and installed the HW tank. He also climbed up into the attic to see if he could identify the sound we periodically would hear. Of course the sound did not occur when he was there. The access to the attic was a very tight space I would have a problem getting into. Simon did so without any problem.

I spoke with Simon about this website and the negative reviews posted. He explained that they were posted by his former partner who has created fake profiles.  I suggested he sue for slander and defamation. Simon has spoken to a lawyer who told him this is an American site and going after all involved may be tricky. Simon decided to let it go and move on. Certainly he was angered by all this but he has come to terms with the fact that he cannot control people who go out of their way to harm others. He said he is very busy and does not need any more work than what he has.  His business is repeat and word of mouth by happy customers like myself. I have continued to send business his way simply because it is helping my friends and family.

I told Simon I wanted to go onto this site to post my response to these fake postings and share my own positive experiences with Simon and his company. He said to please let everyone know his new company name is FlameCo. Check the Better Business Bureau. You won't find fake postings there.  David, Surrey, BC
