I have been a user of Eraser for years, I always liked the program. Until they released Version 6 (6.0.6) and now I never want to use the software again. They released a "stable" version of their newest version which was released late last year in '09. It was billed as Stable and was completely broken and didn't work at all. It couldn't erase files nor could it even load up without crashing. Everybody knew it and yet nobody wanted to talk about it. I complained to joel that it wasn't stable and infact completely did not work and his response was "Stable in versioning doesn't mean the program wont crash". And that a "Stable build is indicative of completeness more than the actual codes ability to work".

 He also seems to have an attitude problem, when suggesting the user be given more information about what Eraser is doing like in Version 5 his response was "I dont really buy the idea of the traditional view that anything completes, successfully or otherwise, should be displayed to the user" and than he goes on to state he places a success message in the tray icon and that "if the task completes normally what is there to report ?"

 Given his lack of ability to release an actual working product in Version 6 (6.0.6) it seems almost perverse that he would suggest we just trust his program that it is indeed working when it says it is.

 The straw that broke the camel's back was when I used his latest version of Version 6 (6.0.7) and the Unused Disk Erasure filled up my hard drive and did not take the space back after completing the operation. Now I am left with 1.57GB of free space and have to reformat or use chdisk to recover my free space that Eraser filled up and failed to give back.

 When I posted this on the forum (Which I saw another user on the forum also have his hard drive filled up completely by the same operation) Their response was to remove my post immediately within a few minutes of posting it. They are not going to advise the users that this feature of 6.0.7 will potentially render their hard drive with zero free space and have to reformat. Instead they don't want you to talk about it.

 I think its important to write this post as they are trying to hire investors to support them and their software. I would strongly advise any investor to think twice about investing into this company as their credibility in releasing working software is severely suspect.
