I was called roughly about 11am (10/26/10) this afternoon by a lady announcing herself as a person from the "Dreams Come True Sweepstakes". She said I was entered to win a $250,000 prize, a convertible Mustang, a trip for 4 to Australia, or some other choice. Of course, I had heard of the "Dreams Come True Sweepstakes" before, so I thought, "Why NOT?" I also remembered applying for it some time ago and considered the sweepstakes to have ended after all this time but I didn't think much of it. She was very nice and asked me a couple of questions regarding my interests and the such. [should have considered it to be unprofessional. I am beginning to detest those who do not stick to business.]
She said I had also won a Diamond watch and four magazines. She said the titles so fast that I didn't hear what they were called. There was only one that I heard and it was "Rolling Stones". She told me that there was a monthly subscription fee of $4.99.
After talking to her for a couple of minutes, I was transferred to her supervisor (no offense but he sounded like a black guy). He asked me a couple of questions to verify that I was the person who they were speaking with. He asked about my name and my address. I thought it was real because he knew my address. He said that I would only pay $4.99 for a total of 60 months but he could lower the price to $68.28 a month for a total of 19 months. I didn't really care, so I agreed and gave him my check card number. He said that the process would not start immediately. I would have asked him what I had to do if I wanted to cancel the subscriptions but he did not leave me room to ask.
Just right after I hung up, I went to check my account online and found that the company had already charged me. It was not called the "Dreams Come True Sweepstakes". Instead, on the billing, it said, "International Read Virginia BCH". I was like... "WHAT? READ?" then a chill went up my spine and I researched online, thus finding this site.
I called my bank to cancel it but they said they could not do a thing since the process has not gone through yet. I guess there's not much they could do, since I haven't received the magazines yet, and the process has not gone through yet. YES, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE FREAKING MAGAZINES YET.
The background had a lot of noise and seemed to be a busy place (I doubt it was), but if it was a busy place, I'm thinking about how many people they have been scamming up til now. There are about six other articles referring to this particular scam. I hope someone gets revenge soon. Yes, I want my money back. all $68.28 of it!

Too bad I didn't check for caller ID before not asking for their company INFO. So just a quick tip: Always listen to see if they are willing to provide their company information and telephone number.

I had the same thing happen to me on November 9, 2011 and I lost $209.74 this is everything thing they charged me for before and after I cancelled when after a month I never received the four magazines such as glamour rolling stones and two other I do not remember. I have filed a claim against them and I have they're number to customer service and all the other third party companies. I just wrote a report on here and posted the charges from my online account and the numbers that were with the company names. If they do not pay me back I will sue the better business bureau.
