I purchased a book for my husband to take his pa state appraisers license test. He got the book and did some practice tests and went to sit for the test. He took his book and print out with him that was all mailed from Insurance-Schools.com. When he got to the prometrics center the man gave him the test guidelines in a handout. Well it was from 2013 and had notes that the state had updated the guidelines. Well my husband shows the man the one that was sent to him that we paid 150 for and the man says oh no this is old and outdated, they shouldnt be selling this!

Well this use to be a 2 part test and the exam is now 1 part and this book is not helpful at all!!! I emailed the company today and sent them what I has found out... they email me back and say that nothing has changed with the test and they will not refund my money. Well I went and found all the updated information and emailed it back and they state that their book is for that test and it was just a typing error on the part of their webmaster.... um no it is the outdated series book that you sent me! Did the webmaster get that wrong too! Do not use this company!!!!

Threatened to post on Rip-off Report if she wasn't issued a refund

AUTHOR: CDupay - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, March 01, 2013

The woman who posted this bogus report asked for a refund for a course that her husband used. She states that the materials were outdated and we shouldn't have sold them to her husband. In July 2012, the state insurance department in Pennsylvania, in conjunction with Prometric (the state exam test vendor) had simply changed the exam series number from 16-15 to 16-20 on their state exam content outline. Not a single testable topic was added nor removed from this outline.  All that was change was the exam series number from 16-15 to 16-20 that appears at the top of the content outline.  Again, not a single testable topic was altered or changed when the state changed the exam title series number from, 16-15 to 16-20. Our materials still listed the previous series number of 16-15, but were exactly what was need to study for the exam and her husband used them to study and PASS the state exam. Now, she is using the fact that we did not change the series number on our materials to ask for a full refund. We delivered the course materials exactly as promised and her husband used the course to pass the state exam. I really cannot see a problem here at all.

When we emailed this information to this woman, Nicole Cramer, of the Kovick Insurance Agency in Blairsville, PA that we didn't feel we owed her a full refund because the course was used to sucessfully prepare her husband for the state insurance exam. She then threatened us and said that she would post a report on Ripoff.com and she would file a complaint with her credit card company if we didn't give her a full refund. Would you want to use an insurance agent that uses these types of tactics?

We are a small company with fewer than 20 employees that has been in business since 1987. We have full time employees whose job it is to keep our materials up to date. We cannot completely disregard their work and give refunds to people who have successfully used the materials to prepare for their state insurance exam.  Did we err in not changing out the exam series number from 16-15 to 16-20? Yes, it was such a minor oversight that Mrs. Cramer has now elevated this issue by posting an erronous report on this site.   Lastly, in one of Mrs. Cramer's email to our firm, she posted that the state insurance exam changed in July 2013.  I pointed out to her that today's date was February 28, 2013 and that July was still 5 months away! What she was looking at are scheduled changes due to take place 5 months from now!
