IntelliTec Medical Institute lied to get my enrollement, upon enrollment backed out of verbal agreements and grades affected at descresion, financial agreements never upheld colorado springs, Colorado

This is lengthy but please read it will save you thousands of dollars, i promis and maybe i can recieve some positive feeback as well.  

I am currently a student at IMI in the dental program. I greatly encourage you to look elsewhere, like PPCC. I was guaranteed a degree upon completion, this was a verbal lie. No sutch thing, and several other students where also under this impression. I was over halfway through my program when I found out this was not the case. I was lied to about the programs that would be offered. EDDA is what i was looking forward to being able to take..and that program is not and will no longer be available in the school. Another lie. I was told to enroll and by the time i am almost done, i can switch my program into the EDDA.

 I found out the drop out rate is almost half..so half of the class will not succeed and for good reason. The rules and regulations are unreasonable and set up for most to fail and for the school to profit off you..the student. Thousands you will owe this school so really do your research before you jump into here..please..please do your research..dont end up like me, a single mom now indebted to this school.

I have a medical condition and am going through a divorce which requires both doctors appointments and court dates to be upheld regularly. I put this in my paperwork before i signed up for the program and discussed the future possible abscenses with my admin counselor. (I wrote this in my paperwork which is in my student file and was signed off by the admin counselor and the dean and myself so they cant say they didnt see what i wrote) I was told by my admin counselor as long as i could keep up with the program, the hours missed would not be an issue and my court dates would be excused. I live out east of the springs, so snow storms might sometimes keep me from making it into town and THOSE would be excused.  Once again..LIES. My grades where dropped due to some missed hours despite documention of court dates and doctors notes or the news reporting 3 foot drifts in my area..leaving me unable to get out of my driveway.

 I never fell behind in my classes and have been labeled by my instructor as a class leader in her own hand written words (once again in my student files). Despite my medical condition, and being a single mom, i wanted to use this future degree to help my son and myself seek a better life.. but so far this school has created more stress for me and is not even a degree.

Financial aid has promised amounts of living expense which constantly changes and never arrives. Weeks and weeks go by..and no money. I have filled out the proper paperwork..I have expressed my need for needing it for daycare..and semesters go by..and the money is never available. To make matters worse..every time, the amount lessens and the dates change as to when i can recieve it. As a struggleing single mom with a severe medical condition that can get quite painful..that living expense would help out so i could at least get through the school hours worry free for now, daycare isnt cheap. (EVERY PERSON I HAVE SPOKEN TOO HAS HAD THIS ISSUE so far and other internet complaints involve this exact issue..be wary of financial aid)

If my grade is up to the dental deptarments descresion, it is docked negatively, i feel because i constantly stand up for my beliefs in wanting to keep my grades A's. If i test A's and homework is A's and classwork is A's..then my grades should reflect that. Not that i had a doctors appointment here and there or got too sic to come a day or two, so i should loose my hard work, especially when i signed paperwork about these issues before taking these courses to begin with.

I was told doctors appointments for my medical conditon or court dates for my case are non excuseable and therefore must be reflected in my grades negatively as "I must take personal responsibility for my actions", AFTER I STARTED INTO THE PROGRAM AND WAS TOLD THE EXACT OPPOSITE before enrollment. I am confused how I am to be punished for my disease and my court case. Any school or workplace would have a reasonable way of dealing with these issues, this is extrememely unreasonable and against verbal agreements.

The way I see it, despite all this i maintain my A's. I feel personally attacked to be honest, and the school allows the students to be singled out and treated in this manner.

Dental Dept.'s answer..verbal agreements arent written, too bad..i should sit up to my eyeballs in debt over this school and their lies and let the dental department decide my fate despite my hard work and oh, financial aid is untouchable so keep waiting for my "aid". I have heard horror stories of externship placement and no job placement guarantee as they promis in the beginning..so please do not fall for the lies..research EVERYTHING they tell you. I wish i did. I wanted this school to be a turnaround in mine and my son's life..not a horror story..and I am not the only one..there is many, many other students just in my class who have had other horrors with the dental program..many who have been forced to drop out..and some who have managed to stick it out like myself.

I write this for two reasons. As a warning to future students..this is more than likely a sham for most students..i know it was for me..so far it has been for everyone in my class and many ohthers I have tracked down and asked and more I have researched on the web. I have heard of very few making it out of the dental program with positive feedback.

The second, is i am looking for suggestions if there are any out there that are positive for me. I am at my wits end right now. I am, invested so much I feel i should finish out to at least get the certifications offered, I am stuck in the thousands..I mean thousands in loans..over 15,000 so far. I do not wish to bad mouth any specific person, but the program in its entirety has failed many many of us students..while the school profits. Maybe nothing can be done, except to warn future students that colleges like this are not for the student reaching an education, but for cramming as many students as possible into a classroom to watch them drop out with all their debt.
