Jeff Kleinman arrived the same day I called him for an estimate.  That was nice.  He was such a nice man and ultimately a great salesperson.  I ordered the Solar Shade immediately because I trusted Angie's List.  When he returned a few days later to install the shade I should have known something was amiss when he arrived with a roller tube that was too wide.  But, things happen I realize that and he said he was sorry and embarrassed but he had to return to his home to re-cut the length.  So he comes back hours later....and begins to drill the brackets in that hold the shade.  It took him approximately 4 hours to complete that simple task.  When he was finally complete he tells me...we look at...he operates it...works fine....I begin to write him a check.  But before I give it to him I look through his receipt very carefully and I didn't see ANY warranty information. [continued below]....
.....   So...I ask him, "I'm sorry where is the Warranty?"  He  gave me such a bewildering look and said he didn't have one BUT not to worry....he'll email one to me.  Now at this point Im still really liking this guy because hes so polite and gentle and seemed to be very honest.  Pluslets not forget Angies List gave him a great score.  So, I trust him to email this Warranty to me.  That was Thursday afternoon.  Thursday nightgoing to bedstill no email.  Friday morningstill no email.Friday nightstill no emailand left messages on his phone and his email.  Saturday no email..Saturday night still no communication from him.FINALLY he answers his phone Sunday evening and tells me he really shouldnt be doing work on a Sunday because of his religious beliefs!  BUT he would make an exception for me because I was so upset he ignored me I told him Id post my experience with him if he didnt provide me a Warranty THAT NIGHT.  Now grantedthis is a man who says hes had this business for over 30 years and it was not his normal practice to provide a warranty?  So I finally get it in an email that evening...read itit says I have a 3 year warranty of the fabric shadebut never gives me the manufacturer.and he didnt date the Warranty.  But, enough about that.  The whole Oh, you want a Warranty? was the least of my problems at that point.

Ive already written so much so Ill try and be brief with my MAIN gripe with his services.  In short, I truly believe hes not the normal installerthat he lost his regular guy somehow and now hes trying to do it all.Sales.and Installation.  The sloppy work he left behind was EVEN visible to an inexperienced WOMAN like myself!  I wish I could attach photos but Ill try to describe what he did wrong.  Picture the end of the shade being attached to the roller bard with large holt heads.NOT flush or countersunk.  Well, these protruding holt heads made dimples in the entire shade when the shade was extended.  Plus, the way the shade was mounted but uneven and extra drilled holes everywhere. 

So, when I brought this to his attention by sending him photos of it.he claimed he had no idea what I was talking about and everything was fine.  SO.I sent those photos to 3 other professional installers and as expected.they agreed with me and even went so far as to demand a refund from Mr. Kleinman.  Againno response after several attempts of trying to reach Mr. Kleinman for a refund.  He finally writes me back an email to say hes been sick and thank you for understanding.  That was on 12/26 (remember he installed it on 12/6).  I give him time to recover from his illness until I could wait no more without hearing from him.  I try again reaching him on January 8th.still no response.  In the meantime Ive supplied him with a review from an installer from Blinds.com and a fact sheet on how much the job SHOULD have cost me. Even the most high end solar shade should have come to a total of nothing more than $248 for the shade and installation.  He charged me $550..and didnt even mention the 5% discount Angies List advertizedI HAD TO BRING IT UP.  On January 10th I finally get an email from him.said he didnt owe me any refund because he fixed the problem on January 2nd.  I was shocked.so he came over my house without notifying mevery unprofessional.   I was excited to go home to see his fix but when I got there I found the fabric peeling away from the roller tube and the fabric shade pulled out of the bottom bracket.  And to top it off.it was so misaligned you cant even retract it without it getting stuck.  I sent him one last email and told him what I found and clearly expressed that I did NOT want him to come back and that I truly felt RIPPED OFF!
