Secondly the site has no noticeable warnings as Craig's List does regarding scammers. As I was new to this kind of service having recently moved back from abroad, I almost became a victim of several scammers on the site who caused me much loss in time and energy chasing opportunities that did not exist for roommate situations. I scanned and sent documents, filled out forms, etc., to find out they could not meet to show the property but required that money be wired (by Western Union) to another state before the keys could be turned over to me.
After reporting the activities of these scammers to Roomster, their postings were not removed. I ended up calling the FBI and filing a report regarding the questionable activities taking place through the use of the site.
Please avoid using this service.
