I challenge you to investigate local television stations that pass off paid appearances as news.
Pay for Play is a terribly unethical practice that needs to stop.
I believe you have at least one type of those shows on your station.
There might not be a law against it, but it seems to defraud the public on some way to pass off a segment about whatever a producer got paid to report on rather than what is actually newsworthy.
It also seems to deny honest businesses who are unwilling to pay Amanda Chamberlain to get on her show a chance to gain rightfully deserved media coverage.
Gephardts have painted a picture of themselves to the public as being honest, fearless, and faithful. If you are unwilling to address Amanda Chamberlain selling coverage and segment time on your TV show, maybe you could address this challenge in this forum.
1) Is pay for play ethical?
2) Does it violate any laws?
3) How widespread is it? Is Amanda Chamberlain the only one doing it? I doubt it.
