Neal Lyons, the founder, and CEO of L&W Investigations and LWI,Inc. intentionally stuck it to you, and never planned on paying you or anyone else for the work they do for him or his company.  Unfortunately, I did a few cases for him and got screwed by him too.   

Here is how he plays the game...he contacts unsuspecting PI's throughout the country to handle cases for him.  If he's lucky enough to have several cases in the same general area, he will give the person as much work as possible as he never intends on paying for their services anyways.  After you complete the work, you send your report, video and invoice to him, and he transfers the information onto his letterhead, and signs his name as if he completed the work.  He then sends the report, video and HIS invoice to the client.  He of course gets paid, but you will never get paid.  Once you start to make a stink, he will do one of several things.  He is notorious for filing a complaint with the State PI Licensing board, making up some allegation that is totally false, just to tie you up and hopefully get you to stop calling him.  The other thing that he will do should you ever talk to him again, which is doubtful, is he will tell you to sue him.  He shares that by the time you spend $150,000 suing him for your lousy invoice, even if you win, he isn't going to pay you anyway, so go for it.  Neal Lyons has mastered this scam and uses it daily across the country, and continues to get unsuspecting people to fall for his game while he sits back and pockets the money for their hard work.   

When I looked at going after him for my invoices, I found out that this guy has been sued so many times for fraud, and has had so many complaints filed against him, he just doesn't care.  He just sits back and adds another tick mark to his sucker poster.  Unfortunately, you are certainly not alone.  There are countless complaints and warnings posted all over the country on the PI association web sites warning everyone to stay clear of this crook.  Unfortunately, not everyone is aware of his illegal games...yet.     

Google L&W Investigations and read about all the lawsuits and complaints filed against this guy and the various company names he uses.  Neal Lyons invented the word SCAM.  And by the way, don't bother trying to file a complaint in MA against his PI license, because according to the State, he has never had a MA PI license.  I spoke to someone who shared that if he is pressed to provide a license, he uses someone else's, but claims it is his.  This person found out that he was using their license and sending it out to companies saying it was his.  Pretty amazing that the insurance companies that he works for haven't figured out that he isn't licensed and he's scamming them too. 

Get the word out to your local PI association that Neal Lyons and L&W Investigations intentionally will stick it to you.  Hopefully, fewer people will fall victim to this guy and his blatant rip off games if we all pull together to let people know that this guy is a crook.
