I have been reading a lot of the complaints on this website in regards to MDG Computers Canada and I have to say, take some personal responsibility. MDG is finance company. For those of you who think that your balance is your total obligation amount due, and the total of what you will pay obviously need to go back to school to learn how interest works. You are charged annually an interest rate based on your personal credit rating. If you have bad credit you will have a higher interest rate because you have already proven yourself to be a high risk consumer. If you were to go to Best Buy and purchase a $500.00 laptop on your 19.8% credit card and you only make the minimum payment of $10.00 every month it will take you 107 equal monthly payments (provided that is the only charge on the card) of $10.00. That is $1,065.06 in total for your $500.00 laptop. That’s $565.06 in interest! If you want to save money pay down the balance faster by making additional payments, increasing payments or paying it off in full! MDG financing offers open loans so if you want to save money pay the balance off! It's that simple.

Financing: MDG is like ANY finance company. They NEED to see your financial history IE Trans union credit score. That is how any company assesses your level of financing. They are not going to give someone with a less than 500 credit score over $3,000 dollars of products because let’s be honest, at 500 TU, you’ve already proven you cannot support payments. Your credit score sucks because you don’t pay your bills! You are a higher risk. Personal information is also important for fraud and security reasons. If you were to send thousands of dollars worth of products to someone you want to make sure they are who they say they are. Companies get scammed too, that’s why they have policies in place. They want to see your source of income for two reasons 1) to know you are able to pay for your products and 2) to set you up on a payment schedule that will benefit you. If you receive a biweekly income, they will set you up on biweekly payments which are much smaller than a monthly payment. If you receive a monthly income then they will not set you up on a biweekly payment plan. After three months you can change it!

Contracts: If you actually read your contract you will see the total payments you need to make. My contract stated 48 equal monthly of 104 equal biweekly payments. If you miss or move payments OBVIOUSLY this will affect the length of your contract. You can pay your account off whenever you would like by making additional payments or increasing your payments, but it goes both ways. Your balance won’t decrease steadily if you are not making payments! Everything, right down to warranty is stated on the contracts which are legally binding entities. If you sign it, you are obligated to abide by the terms and conditions laid out in it. Nowhere in the contract does it state MDG’s obligations, but only your obligation. Therefore to say MDG is in breach of their contract EVER is completely false.  It is written in black and white, in plain English.

Prices: They have a policy set in place that states you CANNOT receive a promotional item with the promotional price. You can either select the free laptop with your living room set or pay regular price for the living set, or you can get the promotional price, but no free laptop. This is the biggest cause for why everyone complains about prices saying they did not receive the promotions correctly.

Payments: Everyone is asked to make a security deposits prior to having their products shipped out. That so they can verify your banking information. Make sure the bank account information you provided is a valid bank account. Again, they won’t send products to someone they don’t know, without knowing if they can in fact pay for them. If you are a higher risk then they will ask you to make additional payments to show that you can in fact follow a payment schedule. It’s a way of redeeming yourself for your poor financial decisions and bad credit score. You establish a payment history with them. If the bank statement you sent in shows that you don’t have enough funds at the end of the month or week to cover your payments or there are numerous NSF on file, then they will also ask for additional payments. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY DON’T KNOW YOU AND NEED TO KNOW YOU CAN MAKE YOUR PAYMENTS!! Again, you need to show you can pay for your products.

Products: MDG sells brand name products. EVERYTHING is brand new. Only their Desktops are custom built with brand name parts like LG!

Locations: MDG is online only. Any physical location is not associated with MDG online. If you bought a computer from a physical location take your issue up with that location. They have nothing to do with MDG online.

All the information mentioned here came directly from online, or from simply asking someone! Take some personal responsibility for you decisions. Nothing is hidden, you just need to ask! And be polite. I wouldn’t want to treat someone with respect all they did was yell and scream and carry on. If you were hung up on it’s probably because you were swearing. They are a business, but you are talking to an individual and they do not need to put up with your attitude. Also, if you do not like your sales representative, or customer service representative, or finance representative or collection representative do not name them personally! They have a life outside of work too and don’t want to be hunted down. The internet is full of personal information, and although you may not have liked their professional practices, you never know if they have a family, or might be dealing with a death. Would you want to be name personally (First and Last) online for all the world to see in any context that you were not aware of nor agreed to? I don’t think so.

The interest is rediculously high

The has not gone down in a year.

That is no reason to have consumers pay 3 and 4 times what the product is worth!
