I went to this McDonald's at 9pm Sunday, 3/11/12.  I asked for a two cheeseburger meal, and two other combos.  The two other combos were ordered without incident, but I requested that the cheeseburgers not have ketchup dripping all over the outside of the bun like they gave me the last time.  The girl gave me my total, and the screen said 'ask me' where it would usually would say 'no pickle' or 'light mustard,' or what have you.  Then she must have left her microphone on, because I heard her say "can you believe this guy, what a d*ck!"

I was fuming.  I paid my money, and pulled up to the pickup window.  I was handed my drinks, and then I asked for a manager.  The manager waddled over, and she said that the girl wasn't talking about me, she was on the phone with her boyfriend and was telling a co-worker about him.  I asked her what she was doing on the phone when she was supposed to be giving her attention to the customers.

Then I reminded her that the cellphone policy was visible from the lobby, and that I was familiar with it, that the workers are to turn their phones in on the beginning of their shift and will not have them available for use during!  I knew she was lying and covering for the foul-mouthed teen.  Then she just looked flustered.  It was at this point that I told her she would refund my money, because I could not trust a bunch like them and would not risk eating anything that they would hand me.  I think I can get the girl fired for what she called me, but what do you think I will need to do to get the asst manager fired for the lying?

Everyone missed the biggest DICK point

AUTHOR: voiceofreason - (United States of America)

The poster confirmed his dickness when he requested the manager refund his money. Why didn't he (or she, or it, whatever) just drive off after overhearing the worker's comments? Why did he proceed to both accept and pay for his order, when he/she clearly had no intention of keeping/eating it?

I too quickly blow my stack when involved with service employees who have an attitude, and I've demanded a few over the years be canned, so I'm not joining the mob dumping all over this poster for nothing. When the total story is added up, it's not adding up.

The poster can't PROVE who, or in what context, the worker spoke of. The worker might have been returning to a round of rank outs with fellow employees that could have been going back and forth way before this customer came on the scene. The poster jumped to a conclusion, that right or wrong could not be proven, and nobody should be trying to get someone fired without absolute proof. Whatever the workers might have been saying to one another, as immature teens are wont to do, and the poster can't prove otherwise, was none of the customer's dad-banged business.

Assumptions.

AUTHOR: Inspector - (USA)

How do you know the person you overheard was talking about you?  How do you know they were on a cell phone, does McDonalds not have a land line?

Do you not know what you did wrong?  Are you totally unaware of your actions and how it effects others?  Do you feel deep down that you are a d*ck and that's why it bothers you?  I this day and age it does not pay to create confrontation anywhere.  We might just read about you on hear on the news how you were shot in the face in a drive thru by some unhinged employee.

Totally with Mocha on this one

AUTHOR: Steve - (USA)

I wouldn't go back to the place, for sure. But to go on and on about cell phone policies, going out of your way to get the girl fired (and even her manager?), saying they cursed at you, are incompetent, liars, etc. - come on already. And if the OP really said he did not want the ketchup dripping, "unlike you gave me last time," he lost the right to be respected with his rudeness. Somebody that had an ounce of class would just say, "please do not go too heavy on the ketchup".

This is why I think everyone should have to spend at least one summer in food service. You learn how crappy these jobs really are, and you do not add to their misery with your lack of manners.

The OP is very unreasonable

AUTHOR: Southern Chemical and Equipment LLC - (USA)

The OP is obviously troubled with some aspect of McDonalds, and my suggestion is a simple one.

DO NOT GO BACK!!

But here is the problem.

The OP is obviously too cheap to go somewhere else.

The fact of the matter is that any fast food restaurant you go to may at some time or another have a "sloppy sandwich".

Just stop eating fast food.

Problem solved.

Fast food, like that at McDonald's is made in assembly line conditions by mental midgets not smart enough to get a real job. These people make minimum wage, or close to it and certainly have no pride in themselves or their job, and most could care less if they get fired, as the next minimum wage job is a day away.

In recap, your original complaint is frivolous, as you order the cheapest sandwich on the menu and want first class special service in it's preparation.

Just common sense here.

I'm sure McDonald's won't miss you.

You are the "customer from hell" that no business wants.

You could be right

AUTHOR: MochaG - (United States of America)

if and only if you can prove that she was actually talking to you. You did not see her but heard from the speaker only. Just give us hard evidence that she talked directly to you even though she said that.

If you think their products are sloppy, why do you keep going back to them? Simple...

All in all, it is not worth the time. I don't go to McDonald because I do not like their products.

Shut Up Trolls

AUTHOR: Shane - (U.S.A.)

To all of you trolls on here dogging the poster - A person pays for a product as a customer. They have a right to be treated with courtesy and have the product made to order. Anybody working for me with a cell phone in their ear while they are supposed to be taking care of customers would be fired. I personally don't want a sandwich that has been slopped together either.

If the girl could get fired for calling you a "d*k"...

...then she could get fired for saying that 2+2=4. Both statements are obviously true.

Presumptions

AUTHOR: Walter - (USA)

It's not okay for me to presume the manager is lying, but Robert can presume I worked there.  You don't have to work there to see the cellphone policy.  The manager is so juvenile they wrote one up and taped it to the wall, in full view of the customers from the registers.  It is funny that these workers are so incompetent and untrustworthy that they must turn in their expensive personal cell phones to management while they are on the clock, and worth being pointed out and chuckled at while you and your friends are waiting in line.  I have never worked for McDonalds.  They make a sloppy product, and when I request that it be made correctly, they have offensive personal remarks to make about their customers.  If they can't make the products properly, they should be fired.  If they have something derogatory to say about their customers, they should be fired.

I would have certainly handled it differently if I were the McDonalds manager...

Sounds like you are a total nit picker  "No ketchup dripping from the bun, like last time."

You, sir are a total JACKASS!!

So

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

...when were you fired from this job?

You may have had a convincing report...right up until you said the following.

Then I reminded her that the cellphone policy was visible from the lobby, and that I was familiar with it, that the workers are to turn their phones in on the beginning of their shift and will not have them available for use during!
- You were at the Drive-Thru not inside the restaurant in the lobby..which brings up the next point.  How do you not only know it is visible from the lobby, but are "familiar" with it enough to recite it to the manager to "remind" her?

Of course if you are telling the truth, you were the d*ck when you made this comment.
I requested that the cheeseburgers not have ketchup dripping all over the outside of the bun like they gave me the last time.

Doubtful

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

Just because they have a policy of no cellphones for employees doesn't mean the employees follow the policy. Especially late at night. The asst. manager could be being truthful with you, there's no way for you to verify the story's truthfulness. At best, you can complain that the employee was using her cell phone in the drive through, since that's what the asst manager admitted to her doing. As for the assistant manager, what has she done wrong? There's a presumption she's lying, but you have no proof of this. Your title makes it sound like they were cussing you out, but all they did was say you were being a dick?

From your petty complaint here and your desire to get minimum wage teenagers fired from mcdonald's, i would say they were spot on. You are a dick.
