Received a call about a sweepstakes that I was one of 50 chozen with the letters aw
in minn. to win 25000.00 dollars all I need to do was order one magazine . then ask for a card number to verify that I was a card holder of vista or mastercard,so I gave my card number to have money deposited into that accont.
when I check my account they had taken 70.41 out for 1 magazine ,I call them to cancel but could not get a hold of any one. When I finally got paper work from them it
was 70.41 for 12 months and 2 other magazine were added. When I finally did get to talk to them theysaid they were already order and I could not cancel.
I called my bank and they are also investgating they credited me 70.41 ,but the next month they took another 70.41 from my account. So I had to cancel that card and ask for a new one.

#2 Consumer Suggestion
And try not to send money to Mrs. Mabuto in Nigeria
AUTHOR: Anon. - (United States of America)

If you are asked to send money to collect money from a sweepstakes or contest, then tell me to remove the "small amount" from your winnings and refund the rest to you. This is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Don't you feel foolish.
If you get an email from a Mrs. Mabuto in Nigeria that to get a large fortune of her dead dictator husband's money out, all you will have to do is share your bank account number, I suggest that you do NOT do this either.
In fact, unless you int ital the transaction yourself, it is a good rule to NEVER buy anything over the telephone or Internet unless you have thought and researched it for at least 24 hours. Any large money transaction should be OKed either by someone at your bank who knows you and can help you figure these things out or your personal attorney.

#1 UPDATE Employee
Incorrect
AUTHOR: EMSI/NPI Employee - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, May 19, 2010
I am in employee of NPI and I would like to clarify a few things about this complaint. 1) NO purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win the sweepstakes. If that's what you were told we apologize on behalf of the sales agent you spoke with and we will get to the bottom of it as soon as possible. 2) What was offered to you was a promotional magazine package which is one weekly for a 40-60% rate and in return you receive two free monthly magazines for an entire year. You will not be charged for the monthly. 3) The reason you couldn't reach our office is because someone changed the customer service number in the system and we have since fixed this problem. As of now, I can not discuss employee payments but I have reviewed your account and what you have posted is false. We do apologize for the inconvenience and if you have any further questions please give us a call. Thanks!
