Dear Sirs/madams,

We were told when we hired Neighbors Moving that our precious things would be well taken care of, moved carefully, and arrive unharmed.  That was not the case!  Instead:

1)  We were charged for over $1000 for boxes, and the movers used only 1 box that was not ours, putting rocks in it.
None of the large art boxes were used, though this was specifically requested

2) Also, I find it unusual that the drive axle weight went up 10,000lbs(5 tons), and the trailer axle went up
another 5,000lbs (2.5) tons from the first weight which should have included only our stuff( and I know we were their first pickup by the way the truck was packed), which would mean that their second pickup would have had to have
weighed 7.5 tons(which is what they said WE had in weight), but that was after their SECOND pickup!!!  They apparently
were charging us, in addition to the extra weight on the steering axle, the second pick-up weight along with ours.  In other words, according to what we were hearing from them, we are paying for us and the other family.

3)  The tare weight on the moving van's front steering axle magically jumped 1/2 ton (1000 lbs) between Shepardsville, kentucky and Glendale, Kentucky.  Are we paying twice for gasoline?????  Or did you take three men weighing 333lbs each with you in the cab?

4)  Well over 30 of our precious items were broken by mishandling them, jumping on them in order to reach boxes that were higher,  or dropping them from the trailer to the pavement, etc. despite my consistent complaining about them jumping on boxes that were listed as FRAGILE in size 72 font on the computer, and taped to 5 sides of the boxes.

5)  They even managed to break through a truck bed tool box top by climbing on it to reach higher objects that were crammed so tightly into the truck that they were not sure they could get them out.

6)  We did not fill out the inventory list, Neighbors Moving or Preferred did, and they clearly wrote "BOXES" and then drew lines down to the bottom with an arrow, despite the fact that on each box I had taken the time to type on a computer in size 72 font or hand label, where the item/s came from and what was in the box.  I had hired a packer to pack things and they had been packed very well.  They, Neighbors or Preferred, had not taken the time to fill out the inventory list correctly; therefore there are some items that don't fall under your ".60 cents" per pound insurance clause.  Back to this subject later.

7)  We had hired another man to supervise the moving and clearing out of our three storage rooms of our precious items to make certain nothing was missed.  Nothing was missed, but they told Mr. Taylor to sign a paper that stated according to him "that they could move the items out of the storage rooms", and said NOTHING to him about a .60 cent insurance clause, nor made him aware of it.  If they had, he would have called us.

8)  We were charged almost double what the original estimate was, when we had weighed items and had a pretty good idea of how , weight we had, and added a ton (2000 pound) cushion just in case.  The shippers weight was almost
twice as much as ours even with our one ton cushion.

9)  Never delivered our sterling silver water pitcher, two lead crystal water pitchers, a plated silver coffee service which included a serving platter, sugar bowl, creamer and coffee pot.  These were not itemized on the list, but instead I assume were one of the "boxes" they listed,(however not itemized so I cannot tell - and the movers or Neighbors
filled out the inventory list). Therefore these items do not fall under the .60 cent/pound clause, but instead due to their value will have to fall under your umbrella clause for insurance purposes.

10) They broke 3 stained glass windows by bending them, and one shade of a matched set of Quoisel tiffany style lamps.  These were professionally wrapped and clearly marked fragile and what they were.  Again, these were not itemized by the movers on the moving inventory list, and therefore would fall under normal insurance.

11)  The movers were moving too quickly and in spite of my 72 size font, stating where the items went, they still came and asked where each item went.  I am not sure they could read, and had difficulty speaking English.
That made it very difficult to communicate with them.  On top of that, the movers were surly, not responsive to our requests, and demanded we sign off on their delivery performance.  They complained to us about them being undermanned for the job, which we took affront to as we had no say in how they were staffed, though that may have adversely affected them in their interest in protecting our valuables.

12)
My wife has Multiple Sclerosis, and gets around in 2 power wheelchairs  one for outside, one for inside.  They
crammed them in so tight that they stripped the padding off one of the arm rest handles, and upon unloading, pulled a 700 pound chair by the footrests, breaking them, so they simply fall to the floor instead of supporting my wifes
feet.  I have not checked the outdoor electric power wheelchair for damage, because I have been trying to repair some
of the damaged items so we can place them in our home and actually be able to live in our home without cutting ourselves on broken glass, etc.
