I got a prescription for a breast pump from my doctor and called my insurance company to find out if one was covered. They told me to contact Providence Home Services as it was the only company they worked with and to request a rental. I called Providence Home services and requested a RENTAL. I received a call saying they had one and I would be allowed to keep it because they are so difficult to clean. It was delivered. I used it.. They sent me a BILL for $300!!! I asked for a covered breast pump. They provided me with one for cost but NEVER disclosed that it was going to cost me. I called them to ask to return it and get the rental as I'd originally requested. I'm TOLD they do not take returns because I used the breastpump and they don't even offer rentals..... WELL OF COURSE I USED IT!! Why else would I have asked for one? So I'm out $300 because they didn't tell me I'd have to buy this when I ASKED for a insurance covered Rental. I was under the impression when they told me I could keep this one that it was after verifying coverage(which they did) there were providing me the ASKED FOR medical equipment. I asked numerous times of Providence Health Care and Providence Medical Equipment that it was covered. They kept telling me yes. Providence Home Services won't budge. They will NOT take this one back and they will NOT waive the bill because of the bait and switch... I'm not paying for something they fraudulently charged me for. I KNEW My medical coverage. I ASKED for a covered breast pump, they gave me one I have to pay for and refuse to help me AT ALL!!!!!!!!
I want the rental pump I ASKED for and to return this pump. I was told when I called them they would allow that. When I called again today I was told that they WILL not allow that because I used the medical equipment.. TOTAL BS.. and completely underhanded to make me pay for something when all along they had told me it was covered.
