We used Relogulf for our move from Abu Dhabi to Ireland in January 2013. The website and testimonials were good, the initial meeting went well with professional service and quote process. The quote was AED14,000 - this was competitive so we accepted. The removal staff were good packing all our goods professionally. The first warning of a problem came after we arrived in Ireland, we received an email from Neil Price saying that the volume of our goods was greater than the quoted amount and that the new price was AED20,000. I argued that they had visited the house and given a quote and that I had not added any other items after the quote. Neil basically said that my goods would not be shipped unless I paid the extra amount. We were already in Ireland, I had no choice, so paid the extra amount. The container was expected to arrive within 6 weeks. After 6 weeks there was no sign of our container and Neil said there had been a delay. After a few more weeks he said there was a problem with the paperwork. Few months later he said it wasn't our paperwork, there was a problem with the paperwork of the other person sharing our container. Each time I contacted him it took weeks and multiple emails to get a reply. I realise now this was all just delaying tactics. I had been speaking with Paul Hunter at ReloUK as he was the local contractor doing the local delivery. He was initially vague, but once we realised we were being scammed, I asked Paul if the delays had anything to do with paperwork and he admitted that it did not. I asked if he had been paid and he said that he hadn't been paid and neither had UK customs or the other shippers so our container was on hold pending payment. Paul was extremely sympathetic and advised legal action against Relogulf. Dubai Police were not helpful. Dubai Economic Development Consumer Rights Division were equally useless. I am not sure what happened, but after 5 months of waiting I received an email from Paul saying that the problem was resolved and my goods would be delivered in the next week. If I had to guess I would say that ReloUK were concerned that their company name was being harmed by the criminal activities of ReloGulf and put pressure on them to fix the problem. Many other families tell almost identical stories to this, we were all scammed to pay extra money and then to wait 5 months (or longer) for delivery. I am just thankful to ReloUK for whatever they did to ensure our container was delivered and that we now have all our furniture and possessions again.

Keep up pressure with DED

AUTHOR: persiankat - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, October 30, 2013

We too were victims of ReloGulf.  Neil Price also contacted us to ask if we could remove the complaint against them that we had lodged with the DED.  I laughed out loud!  Needless to say we did not remove our complaint and wrote to the DED again confirming we were still aggrieved by our experience with the company and that they should not be allowed to trade.

We have never heard back from DED but obviously the complaints being made are causing ReloGul issues so I would suggest everyone lodges a complaint against them with DED to keep the pressure up.

ReloGulf is a complete scam

AUTHOR: ReloGulf-Victim - ()

POSTED: Friday, September 27, 2013

The previous poster is spot-on with her comments. My experience with ReloGulf was similar. After SIX months -- and additional US$2,500, I finally got my belongings -- but SIX boxes/items were missing, including an Arabic carpet, a hand-carved Armoire, and my bed frame, leaving me with only a headboard and a mattress on the floor. ReloGulf's gross negligence is far reaching. It did not pay the shipping broker 21,000 AED (about $5,000), and luckily one of the 8 people consigned in our container was still in Dubai and paid his own money to the shipping broker to release the bill of lading in the USA. As a result of the delay, we all incurred $8000 in storage fees at a port in Norfolk, Va. that we all had to split, except for one person who backed out. Shame on him.

I feel totally violated by my experience and hope that Neil Price and Phil Davis get put in jail for the crimes they have committed against innocent families and individuals like me.

Update from DED

AUTHOR: Kyliem - ()

POSTED: Thursday, September 26, 2013
I have just been contacted by Neil Price, one of the Directors of ReloGulf.  He says he has been contacted by Dubai Department of Economic Development saying that there are currently a number of complaints against ReloGulf. He has asked me to contact the email addresses below to close my complaint.

If you have been stung by ReloGulf, perhaps you would like to contact these individuals personally to add your complaint to the list. With enough complaints, perhaps DED will be able to act against this is disgraceful company.

Another Relo Gulf victim

AUTHOR: Tania - ()

POSTED: Thursday, September 05, 2013

Thank you for your story. My goods are also currently being held for ransom. If putting pressure on Relo UK can help, then I'll be doubly thankful for your account. If anyone has any other suggestions that have worked, please share them. I have written to the local Dubai English press but no one seems interested or wants to get involved in tarnihsshing the image of Dubai's efficiency & climate of safety and fairness.
