I had been a faithful customer of Repair One for over five years, having them tend to the service needs of two different vehicles.

After having them perform an oil change on my 2012 Honda Civic, as I was driving on the interstate, the lower engine shield dropped.  This created an awful dragging noise.  I took the car in to my collision repair center, and they determined that the damage was a result of the fasteners being missing from the shield.  It was obvious that the repair tech at Repair One had failed to re-attach the fasteners after the oil change was completed.

The way that I handled that with Repair One was to allow them to reimburse me for my collision center expense in the form of complimentary oil changes.  I continued to utilize Repair One for my service needs.  I was putting about 1,000 miles per week on my Honda Civic, and therefore I was having Repair One change the oil and filter every three weeks and rotating the tires every six weeks.

Some time after the complimentary oil changes had lapsed, there were several incidents that concerned me.  On two occasions, they called me to the cashier area, signaling that the service was complete.  As I was checking out, I observed that my car had already been taken off the rack.  The tech apparently noticed that the bolts to secure the engine shield were still in his work area, so I saw them move my car back into the lift, raise it , and replace the bolts.  This happened twice.

On another occasion, after I had checked out, I got into my car and was placing the receipt in glove box when I noticed that a belonging was missing.  When I brought that to the attention of the staff, the tech returned my belonging to me.  This bothered me immensely: first, I felt violated that the tech was even in my glove box, and second, he had stolen a belonging of mine from the glove box.

The indicent that compelled me to stop giving Repair One my business was when their tech had reset both the trip meters.  This may seem like an inconsequential action, but it bothered me because I was relying on both trip meters to measure mileage for some scientific analysis that I was performing.  A competent tech would have known how to reset the oil life, and would not have reset the trip meters.  When I tried talking to the owner, Todd, he became indignant and basically told me to leave and never come back.

Up to this point, Repair One had been the only entity to perform oil and filter changes on my Honda Civic, and I am the original owner of that vehicle.  Several weeks after I stopped going to Repair One, I took my Civic to another auto service center to have the oil changed.  The staff at that center informed me that the plug threads in my oil pan were completely stripped.  It is obvious that the damage was done by the incompetent repair techs at Repair One.  Fortunately, my new auto service center was able to tap the plug hole in the oil pan and use an oversized plug to resolve the issue.
