I worked for this "so-called" fundraising company for almost a year. The company was owned by Tom Ladono who recently passed away, and is now being managed by his parents. Tom was a CROOK! He promised me, and several other sales reps, commissions and bonuses, and never paid us. He is not compliant with the EDD and falsifies the company tax returns to avoid paying state and federal taxes. The company employees ex-cons, thieves, gang bangers and thugs. The guy who sat next to me was in prison for 7 years and was covered from head to toe in tattoos (even had horns on his head!) I even saw sales reps flashing their pistols and guns in the office to threaten other sales reps for deals!!
We were SUPPOSED to be raising money to help save high school sports. HA!! My job was to call businesses in the local communities for the high schools SS was contracted with. The problem is.. SS DID NOT have any contract with the high schools. We would just solicit businesses in the community to purchase ads on our schedule posters. SS would collect the donations with credit card payment and checks but WOULD NOT print the schedule posters and even worseWOULD NOT send ANY of the donations to the high school. The funds were supposed to go toward equipment, travel expenses and other much needed expense but the
company kept the funds to pay for their BMWs, drugs and alcohol and partying. I would frequently walk into
the office and the owner, Tom, would be drunk and high.
SS Fudnraising has ruined numerous communities and high school reputations across the United States.
After quitting several months ago, I came to find that any commercial fundraising firm is required by law to be bonded and registered as a commercial fundraiser with that states attorney general office. SS Fundraising is non-compliant and has operated as such for several years. Its time someone does something to stop this firm and their thugs from destroying high school sports and businesses trying to support their local teams.. or worse.. someone is going to die as a result of one of their thugs lashing out.

As a wildly successful real estate broker for 33 years, I immediately started cleaning house when I took over SS Fundraising. The problem was not the sales rep- they are simply dedicated telemarketers trying to earn a modest pay check. The REAL problem was the management group who collaborated together to embezzle and steal as much as they could while the owner my son(Tom Londono, deceased at age 30) was in bed and hospitals the entire last year and a half of his life- far too sick to pay close attention to his lieutenants.
Well, I fired them all one by one as I realized what they were up to, and wish I would have done it sooner. Talk about ethically challenged! They alone were guilty of several of the things reported in the complaint. I have a strong suspicion that the person who filed the complaint while hiding under the ficticious name of D. Lapp is in truth one of the ethical pygmies I happily fired and who as a result continues to deviously engage in yet more deceit just to pay me back.
It has cost me just north of $180,000 these past few months to make posters that were contracted for but not produced, pay schools the returns they were promised, and refund the poor individual merchants who were taken advantage of. Thank goodness my pockets are deep enough to have done the right thing. And you know what? Employees of competing marketing companies are hearing about the new reputation for honesty and fair business practice at SS Fundraising and are flocking to us for jobs because they want to join a winner that plays by the rules!!!
