Secure Watch Saber Alarm Tacks on fees beyond contract/pretends to cancel account/goes to collection agent Knoxville Tennessee

 We made mistakes. We didn't research company and was pressured by door-to-door sales which is their tactic. Husband paid services in full at signing of contract. He asked salesperson if this would be all he ever had to pay. Of course we got the  answer we wanted to hear. After three years of hassle: alarm going off when power goes out all night long (with two special needs children in house), never a sign for our yard - and we were approached twice more by sales people. We finally reached the end and was glad it was over.

Started getting bills by the month. Was on phone more than once asking for cancellation. Contract ended in December 2012. In August, we get letter from collection agency. (If you research online, this is what they do to many customers.) No one referred us to our contract - which in fine print of first paragraph states you have to cancel by written letter. When rep at Secure Watch (the local maintenance of ADT) told us we owed nothing more, we thought it was done.

PLEASE - IF YOU SIGNED UP WITH THESE PEOPLE - GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!! I got a basket full of lies from every different person I spoke with. The last person claimed they fired the one who was supposed to have cancelled my account. They fired her for promising cancellation, yet they would not honor ours because we could not prove it from our end of the conversation. We had to pay an additional $115 outside of contract. Some have had to pay ten times this - depending on how long the fees racked up. BEWARE!!
