In mid-October, 2009, I placed an order on for an AC charger for my Inogen One oxygen concentrator.  There was nothing on the web site which indicated that the item was not in stock.  In December, they informed me that not only was the item not in stock, but it was no longer available from the manufacturer.  They demanded an additional $100 for the replacement part, a universal power adapter (bait and switch).  I paid the additional $100.  On Dec 30, 2009, I received an email stating that the order had been shipped, and tracking information would follow.  I never received any tracking information or the order.


I have been calling and emailing since then, with no results.  I've heard excuses, "oops, it slipped through the cracks,"  "that's why [person]'s not working for us anymore," "we just found out Inogen doesn't drop ship any more," and "it will be shipped on Friday" ....


More than a few weeks ago, I asked them to provide proof that the item had been shipped, or to provide a refund.  I STILL HAVE RECEIVED NOTHING!!!!!  Yesterday, Robert Remick promised to call Inogen to resolve the problem, and call me with the resolution at the close of business (5 pm Arizona time).  I received no call.  I am beyond FED-UP!  I need this item or I wouldn't have ordered it.

We had a great experience with Robert and his company, after a lot of research we found there price to be much less than any where else.

We ordered a new Pride Victory 10 3 wheel in blue and received it fast, from Dallas to Northern VA in 5 days, UPS damaged one of the wheels by ramming the box with a fork lift and Robert had a new wheel sent to us pronto and he is taking care of the claim with UPS, totally outstanding service.

We initially bought an Active Care scooter online from someone else at first but cancelled it at the end of the day we ordered it because they lied to us about the weight capacity that the manufacturer verified, this other company charged me $150 restocking fee which we were not able to recover, that is a ripoff to charge $150 to put it back in the warehouse.

You can rest assured will give you outstanding service.

We are alive and well.  Competitors try to shut us down because we are selling to low(this is for a reason) to save you money.  10 out of almost 50,000 just wont give it up and are still bothering us months later.  They got their order and we will simply not do what it is not right and these people are still trying to take us down.  We are still alive and kicking and 6 years later we are still providing the great service and prices like we have done for almost 50,000 strong in what I think is the hardest industry to sell retail supplies in.  But guess what we are real good at it and there is a lot of people that differ from your ridiculous opinions.  Please see below as an illustration.  Case in fact, the last person said that they got the product but they are still bad mouthing us months later.  You people have no clue what it takes to do what we do and as the middle man, we go though so much behind the scenes.

Thanks and good luck.  We will still be here when you need us again.  This time why dont you try working with us and make it a win-win for everyone.

The tracking information was as good as UPS if not better. The driver was great and the scooter arrived without a scratch. It came just like the movie you made. similar experiences with company

I have had similar experiences with this company.  It took almost four months to receive a product I was told was 'in stock' the day I ordered, and paid in full for it.  From that point on, the owner and his employee made up so many bogus excuses it bordered on ridiculous - from they were inundated with sudden special government orders, to having to take a trip to Chicago to see his child he hadn't seen in years, to someone walked in and bought the one I bought the very same day, and they were waiting for a new arrival.  I finally contacted my credit card company, who withdrew their payment of almost four thousand dollars.  Then gosouthernmd suddely 'received' the product and offered to 'ship it right out'.  We decided to drive to their office in the Phoenix area and pick up the product ourselves.  The office was very small, and the sales person had a mattress on the floor where he slept.  We got our product, but will never deal with these people again.  I found out today that this company is no longer in business, according to the BBB.

I really like how we work very very hard for people.  Go out of our way.  Pay $200 more then what he gave us because little does he know that Inogen decided to not make the AC OR the DC adapter anymore and did not let any middle man like us know about it.  You can order ONLY the universal adapter and only there adapter works with there machine.  This means that you cannot order it from a radio shack like you can with other portable units. So what happens is the supplier jacks up the price and makes us have to pay there price which is $350--Look on our site.  To make just person happy, we did just that and once he got it we never heard from them again.  Go figure.  It is just part of what we have to deal with going on 6 years now.

Rebuttal on this complaint that this customer did to 5 of my mercant reportings.

I explained to this customer about 10 times that Inogen does not make the AC adapter separate anymore and we did have it listed on our site but we had no knowledge that the supplier decided to do a combo pack called a "universal supply pack".  This means that the AC and DC adapter is combined as one.  The AC or the DC adapter is not supplied anymore separately at a much cheaper price.  This is what is wrong with being the middle man and selling products that people desperately need and we do it at a very low price to the consumer.  The problem is the communication that is lacking from the supplier to middle man.  Since this customer ordered the AC adapter only for $179.00.  We tried to find it but there was not one anywhere it the country that would sell us the AC adapter separately.  Our cost for the new Universal supply pack is $409.  We took an additional $100 but you can see that we are still losing money.  Now, these became back ordered and then we still tried to find one where we could not lose money but nothing.  We finally ordered 4 of these because there was 3 other people waiting for this same product but we had to upgrade them to the newer product.  

For anyone that cares, the reason WHY Inogen changed to the Universal Pack is to get MORE money out of all of us and the profit has to be well over 1000%.  There is no solution and no substitution so we are at the suppliers mercy.  They purposely designed it to where we all have to order what they sell and make.

"We leave no one behind."  She got what she ordered whether it was delayed or not because it was out of control and we lost over $200 on this order.  We did and we always do what is right.

UPDATE: Product finally received

UPDATE 5/19/2010

Finally, I received the product I ordered over 7 months ago. It took 4 1/2 months after I received an email stating that the item had been shipped, and 2 months after I started emailing and calling the company more frequently asking for proof that the item had already been shipped or a refund, and a little more than a week after placing this complaint. It was shipped May 11, 2010.
