I made a purchase from a small business owner who had not previously been able to accept credit cards. He found SquareUp & was able to set up an account insatantly. He could then accept credit cards on his phone & was told he would reveceive the money in 2-3 business days straight into his bank account.

 

He ran the transaction, I recevied a receipt & all was good. However, after not receiving the money in his account within a week he contacted SquareUp (by email because there is conveniently no other means of contacting them). He was told that for some unknown reason, they would be "holding the funds" for 90 days before releasing to him. It was a large purchase amount for an air conditioning unit that he now had to carry for 90 days! It however, immdediately charged to my credit card. After contacting them to complain they deactivtaed hs account so he had no way to even check his transactions. [continued below]....

He then requested that the amount be refunded to my card just to end the nightmare. They claimed it had been done & should be posted to my account with 3-5 business days. It has been over a month and neither of us have yet to see that money!

I have emailed them & gotten a generic response that someone would be getting in touch with me. Never happened. And still no money to either if us.

 

This compnay is a joke that steals from their customers and their customers, customers. There is no way to contact & speak to a person. They have completely stopped responding to the business owner & have yet to respond to me. I have filed a dispute with my credit card compnay & they are "investigating." But considering there is no contact info other than a generic help-desk email I will probably never get that money back. So now I will be paying twice for the same product. A

 

A group lawsuit needs to be filed against these thieves & they need to be shut down!

Try a real merchant provider, not square

Square isn't a real merchant services provider.  Go with a company that is reputable, I like Sage. 

 

Michael Kleinman works for them and is great 3055280052 is his #.

 

But whoever you go with , pick someone you can trust;  because rates get tricky.
