St Julien Hotel and Spa Discover sold our Merchant Information to a fraudulant company Boulder, Colorado

After contacting Discover for year end fees I was told that I was enrolled in Merchant Discount Health Plan. I did not authorize this after several calls to our credit card processor come to find out that Discover has given Merchant Discount Health Plan companies contact information (wonder if it was sold and for how much as well as is this PCI compliant for Discover).

Spoke with Terrance at 1-800-319-5243 he said that they would not refund my unathorized funds that they had a recording of authorization and named one of our staff memembers who is an operator and does not have authority to authorize this type of contract. Nor was the question asked if the person was authorized to make this kind of decision. The person from Merchant Discount Health Plan spoke very fast and did not give any question room. Unfortunatly we are a hotel that has a main switchboard and the person was an intern from another country and would not understand what was being asked of her. When I tried to talk with Terrance I told him this was not authorized and that I would contact our attorney to have the fees refunded he stated that was not a threat to them. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. After a few minutes he said he would play the recording and he could not hear me until I listened to the recording. The recording was then played. Once completed he said did you hear it. I said that it was really nice of them to get someone on the phone that did not understand english well and he started yelling at me "they don't understand english" I told him they were a shady company and should be ashamed of themselves.

My expience is almost identical to report number 474441.

This company needs to be stopped and I would think the laws governing PCI compliance should come into play. Discover should be held liable for giving out client infomation as well as Merchant Discount Health Plan should be investigated and put out of business.

I again just spoke with Discover who has a supervisor line to Merchant Discount Helath Plan and Mona from the company said they would refund one month of 39.95 so where is my additional 119.85. I told her that they are on the ripoff report and are unethical her response was "she does not get into that and people are entitled to their own opion"

Discover has put us in this prediciment. We will be cancelling the ability to use Discover due to this.

There really should be a class action law suite filed against Discover as well as Merchant Discount Health Plan.
