I contacted Shannon about a puppy about 2 weeks ago.  I had no prior experience and had never heard of Tiny Paws and Claws until I found it on a web search.  I called Shannon who was very friendly and easy to talk to.  She informed me that she had two yorkie puppies available but had not posted pictures on her web site as of yet.  As promised she sent me a picture of the puppies that next day.  I spoke with her that following night at which time I placed a deposit.  She explained exactly how the process worked and when the puppy would be available.  The next day out of curiosity I searched the web for reviews of Tiny Paws and Claws and ran across this review.  I cannot say it did not concern me because I was planning to travel almost 7 hours to pick up the puppy and pay a large amount of money for her.  I read the comments by satisfied customers and decided that I was not going to let one persons review change my mind.  I am so happy I did not.  Shannon stayed in contact with me during the trip and was waiting when we arrived.  She was so friendly and made us feel very welcome in her home.  She gave use a care package which included food, blanket, bow.....  Since I have returned home she has sent me text messages asking how the puppy is doing and has answered any questions I had.  I brought my puppy to the vet that Monday morning for a check up.  He stated that most little ones are often skinny and dehydrated.  He said that she was very healthy and appeared to have been well kept.  I am writing this because I hope that if anyone in the future reads the complaints that this one person had they please do not let it change their mind. We absolutely adore our new little girl and so happy to have her.  I had a positive experience and would definitely recommend Tiny Paws and Claws to others!!!!

I bought a puppy from Shannon several days ago and have no complaints other than wishing she had groomed him better before sending him home with us. I had to get rid of a lot of mats but that was all.

She told me he should be around 4-5 pounds but there was no guarantee of that. She gave me wormer and medication to prevent a tummy upset from the transition. I got a gift bag with a dog toy, blanket, chose a collar, a small amount of food (that's all any breeder has given me) which is what I was promised. We were given 2 WEEKS to take thim to the vet and promised an exchange if he was not a healthy pup (we did not have to use this exchange).

Zack is well socialized. I personally would not want a micro-anything dog but if that is what people want they need to deal with the health problems......research first. I do NOT agree with breeding this small of Chis, BTW. She took my Visa card for the whole amount and I did NOT pay $1000 for him! Personally, my experience was a good one with the exception being the mats. Yorkies need DAILY grooming and I have the time to do it.

This is just my own personal experience with Shannon. Zack is a sweet gentle little guy and my husband and are both glad we got him.

        I am the owner of Teaya, "Chole's sister", and Teaya is the most healthiest puppy I've had. She growing great, great personality, she is a little Tomboy. I've had no health issues with her at all. If Chole had all those illnesses and Parvo I find it very hard to believe. 

    For one Parvo in a puppy who has not had all their shots would have killed it in just a few days. Two, if you let the puppy, who has not had all of their shots, go outside on the ground, anywhere, even your own backyard. You are making them available to all the parasites and illnesses out there. Stray cat's  carry deceases, flea's carry deceases, bird's, etc.....

    It is not safe to let any puppy/kitten who has not had all their shots outdoors. Teaya has not been outside on the ground ever since I've had her.She uses puddle pads at all times to go potty. She is due for her last set of shots at the end of the month. Then she will be able to go in my backyard.

     I am from California and Shannon is in Texas. She worked with me in every way, she never once told me she only takes cash, I paid by creditcard over the phone. Shannon saw to it that I recieved Teaya safe and sound ,without issue. When Teaya arrived on the plane she was clean, she had a blanket to keep her warm and food and water. All her records, including vet records with phone numbers were with her carrier and everything was present that I needed. 

    I have been an Owner of Chihuahua"s all my life. They are very syseptible to illnesses, because they are so tiny. Even after all the shots, I still would not even consider taking Teaya to a public park or dog park because of that fact. My last chihauhua had a clasps trac and seizers and was very tiny tiny she weight in at 1 lb 8 oz at two year old so i know  when i have a healthy  puppy and Teaya is every healthy.

I am very upset by the nonsense that has been written about Tiny Paws and Claws.  

We have had a VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WITH THEM OVER THE YEARS !!!  We have bought 3 puppies from them !!!!  

I was looking for a very tiny little girl Chihuahua and contacted Shannon from Tiny Paws and Claws. 
We spoke for such a LONG TIME and I loved her enthusiasim & honesty !  We both love our dogs so much we got carried away in chatter.   She KNEW how paranoid I was about my "tines" :)  and did all she could to help me.   I felt like I have known Shannon for years and years when I FIRST spoke with her, it was THAT easy to speak to her.  She assured me that I would not be disappointed if I bought this puppy ... I said "please go ahead and send me her photo" ... she did ... AND THAT WAS THE END OF IT :))   I loved my baby and she is so tiny STILL after almost 2 yrs !   I have since bought two more from Shannon and so happy with each of them ... so similar in personalities and VERY  healthy and happy little babies.  I am SUCH A PERFECTIONIST and soooo fussy and  Shannon knows this and continues to find me the perfect babies. My vet said only TODAY on my latest baby ... "look at her .. (to the vet tech) she is SO PERFECT!!"   "she represents what the Chihuahua represents, the eyes, the ears, EVERYTHING" ... I felt so proud !!!!  I have NEVER had a problem with Shannon .. she is HONEST and trustworthy ... and I cannot imagine WHY this person in the rip off report  is being so NASTY to Shannon .... I have had ONLY POSITIVE experiences. 

One thing I have found with Shannon is that you will hear the TRUTH  and she is ''what you see is what you get '' ..... NO sugar coating !!!!  WHY WOULD SHE TRY TO CHEAT SOMEONE when her reputation is at stake ??????   Are these people STUPID  ????   do you think Shannon would sell a sick puppy ... ????????   She is a VERY  concientious person and invites people to come to her home.  Unfortunately ... we (my husband and I) have never met Shannon in person .. but like Anne in the letter before me .. have met her darling husband at the airport when he HAND DELIVERED our THREE PUPPIES !!!!!  ALL HEALTHY AND BEAUTIFUL !!!!!    He is such an adorable person.  We even offered him to stay the night at our home ... he said "I have to get back  to "help Shannon'' ... they have a wonderful marriage like we do and my husband chatted up a storm with him, while Shannon and I spoke non stop on the phone.   We invited them to come and visit with us whenever they can.  They are always welcome.   

This hurts me so much to see such bad things said about Shannon .. she doesn't deserve it !!!  We text and speak on the phone and in e mail all the time ... and this has hurt her feelings very much .... and mine, as she is my friend and works very hard to produce healthy pups for people like me that are obsessed with little babies.    I KNOW she does ALL SHE CAN to PLEASE everyone that buys a puppy from her.  She is a sensitive person and would never hurt anyone.  All I can say is ... "Tiny Paws and Claws  CAN BE TRUSTED ... I just recently came across this report, and I wanted to add my own personal experience with Shannon Ensminger and Tiny Paws and Claws.  My mother and I have purchased five chihuahuas from Shannon over the past five years.  We would not continue to add her puppies to our family if we felt the puppies were not healthy and high quality.  The first puppy I purchased is named Bootsie.  She is a loving, sweet, good-natured, tiny chocolate chihuahua.  Bootsie is my most cherished puppy.  One of the best things about Shannon's puppies is their sweet disposition.  I have two very tiny puppies from Shannon.  The other three are slightly larger.  It's tough to pinpoint exactly how big a puppy will be.  Puppies are unique - just like children.  Even if a few got slightly bigger than expected, I still love them dearly.

All of my puppies have been healthy when they arrived.  Shannon always prepared them well for the flight.  One time her husband personally escorted my puppy from Houston all the way to Virginia.  He was a pleasant man who was happy to talk about the puppies.  Over the years Shannon has always answered all of my questions and been extremely flexible and warm-natured.  If she does not have an immediate answer, she always gets back to me in a timely fashion.  Breeding the puppies is something she does because she loves the dogs.  Over the years I found out she has children and another job.  She breeds the chihuahuas to produce healthy and sound puppies.

Just recently my mother and I reserved Biewer Yorkshire Terriers from Shannon. This will be a new endeavor for us.  Shannon has patiently answered all of our questions, returned all e-mails in a timely fashion and gone above and beyond what she needed to do as a breeder.  She accepted our credit card information and processed it with no problem. She even sent us an e-mail copy of the transaction.  I would be happy to discuss my positive experiences with Shannon.  I've actually never met Shannon after all of these years. I only met her husband at the airport, but she has remained in contact about the dogs over time.  I've come to respect her as a good breeder. I would recommend her dogs highly without any hesitation.  My chihuahuas are like children to me.  They are such an integral part of my family. Even my four-year-old son is very close to these loving dogs.

First off, on her website, she says, "We accept credit cards"... which is a BIG no, no.  She only accepts credit cards for small down payments and for payments in advance.  She doesnt accept PayPal or checks, and she demands cash for the balance of the payment. 

(not true, out of several hundreds of satisfied customers through out the years I've been online,  I have accepted credit cards, Business checks,  bank wires, personal checks (not preferred), cash (at pickup) postal money orders, Bank deposits, Money gram & western union.)

(We do accept credit cards By phone or at our home. But I  met Vicki Servi Of Anna Texas two hours away from my home and we spoke in reference to cash for the balance.

I can not process a credit card in my car as my terminal is at home. I did try my best with her bank and mine to process her card over the phone when we met. You Vicki Servi should have made the balance payoff before we met over the phone if you wanted to pay with credit. However,  I did take your personal check for payment. I will post that to show proof  your statement is false.  This was a courtesy to meet you and shave 4 hours off your drive time).

She originally said that my puppys parents were both short coat and AKC registered.  The next time, she told me that the dad was actually a long coat. (Dad Is Long Coat) His name is Kingsley. 

Then, she said the dad was AKC registered, (he is Akc Registered I simply made the mistake of saying he was short coat because I was thinking of his son White Knight) with lots of champions in his pedigree,  but the mom was only CKC registered.  Booberry, Is Ckc only which I  purchased from chihuahuas for you out of wharton Texas( so this puppy can only be Ckc)

 *Kingsley and Booberry are the parents as your registration papers state.

I'm the one who caught my mistake and contacted you imediatley after to clarify kingsley  is Long coat not short!!!!!. I also stated If it was an issue long coat dad verses short coat or ckc verse akc papers, I would refund your 200.00 deposit in full.

Why did you leave this information out? 
 
On the day I went to go and get my Chihuahua puppy, I was asking her some questions about feeding, potty training, health, etc... 

And she was getting very defensive and started contradicting herself. She said many times that she would rather just keep my puppy than sell it to me because I was asking questions.   (No You were not just asking questions you were mean and rude and talking about the rip off reports that you had seen online once again. You kept talking about this over and over. I offered you a 100% refund including your non refundable deposit before we met , also when we met because you still kept talking about the rip off reports online I was sick of explaining this to you.  I knew from the get go you were determined to write your own reguardless of my bending over backwards for you) I thought it best  not to sell you a puppy at this point as to avoid this right HERE!!!!!!!!  Your attitude is also why I brought someone with me to over see and hear our conversation at drop off.
 She also has a "no return after 48 hours if not seen by a vet" policy. No dog breeder would have a 48 hour limit unless
they were sure that their puppies get sick and/or die. (Not the reason at all --I and every other breeder have a 48 to 72 Hour contract for customers to take the puppy to the vet. This is to ensure you a healthy puppy at the time of purcahse. This is not for our benefit but yours. (If there is a problem with the puppy we'd like it back asap as to not have you fall in love after 2 or 3 weeks then go to the vet and find your dog may have a problem or genetic defect and then you are in for more expenses you did not count on.   This is for your benifit as much as ours.    I also changed your contract Vicki Servi to 2 weeks per your request. If I were concerned about my puppies health I would have never done this for you.
This was a courtesy to you and something I do often with my customers if they need more time to go to the vet or if they live out of state.  

I also Offered to take the puppy and go to the vet with you before you paid for her.

Your offer was to take her with you to Dallas and send me payment later. 

Anyway the 48 hours or 2 weeks in your case is a return Grace period where we are  more than happy to take the puppy back or exchange the puppy should your vet find a problem. We also include a one year genetic guarantee with all puppies. This covers the heart, liver, lungs, etc.)

According to previous conversations with Shannon, my puppy was guaranteed to have all of her shots,

 (yes,  up to date shots and wormings----according to age anyone knows you cant give a puppy  that young all 3 sets of shots at once it would kill them )  deworming ,(yes, doses were done at 2-4 & 6- weeks by me and one dose done at the vet before leaving to go to your home.) fecal, and even come with a "health certificate." (This is for flying puppies only) Your pup was examined at the vet (A Licensed vet) shots and wormings were done, your puppy also recieved a fecal exam. The test was negative for worms, guardia or coccida. Your Puppy was not coughing and did not have a hernia present at this vet visit or I'm sure the licensed vet where we visited would have documented this at the time of the exam.  ****Please see vet documentation and notes on your paper work. If you are questioning the licensed vet we used please call the office number on your papers and have a conversation with her personally.

 She told me she takes her puppies to her vet on a regular schedule, that her vet knows her very well, and that the vet would deworm my puppy and give her shots on the regular schedule for puppies.  However, when I picked up my puppy, Shannon told me that she normally administers all of her own deworming and shots to all of her puppies instead of taking them to a vet because she is licensed to do so by the state of Texas.

 ( I simply stated Im a graduated Medical assistant and qualified to do my own shots and wormings if need be) I can not do Rabies  only- BUT Your puppy and others are taken to  licensed vets for shots, wormings and  health exam checks  to document everything in writing  because of bogus complaints like this).

 Also, she told me that my health certificate for my puppy was in my paperwork and then told me
 the shot record was the health certificate.

 ( Not true, You were given the vet documents, test findings and charges for the puppy you were purchasing.  I told you she only needed a health certificate if  flying) Teaya or Sugar Baby,  the sister to yours got a health certificate to fly same day) although not flying your puppy still got a complete health exam, shots  fecal etc)

 However, I did not receive a health certificate of any kind in my paperwork. (this is for puppies who fly as its needed at the airport to fly not for pups being picked up, if I thought this was a issue  I would have had the vet make you one for your puppy reguardless of the extra cost.
When I questioned her about not receiving a health certificate for my puppy, she told me that my puppy did not need a health certificate since it was not flying on a plane,and Shannon said she didnt want to pay the extra $30 to get one for my puppy from a vet.

 ( Not True) Just not needed when picking up in person) The vet has all the health documents
on file  Wow!  As much as she charges for these puppies ($1000-$5000), you would think she would be willing to pay $30 for a health certificate for each of her puppies.

 (yes, I would have gladly purchased a health certificate  for you if you had simply stated you wanted it. It states on my website that only puppies that fly come with a carrier and Health certificate to fly.

In reference to the nutrical and carrier I would have gladly even given you both anyway if you had made the extra 2 hour drive instead of having us meet you but Since we met and I did not bring these items    I'm sorry I could not just hand them to you!  I did however compensate you.

She had worms, parasites, kennel cough or a much more serious disease that could be fatal (only time will tell), and a hernia. That's right, A HERNIA. Now, I have to wonder if she lies about that, along with everything else.

You can call the vet which is located at  the top of your paperwork where it shows the shots, wormings, fecal exam and charges.) I made sure the vet checked Chloe Fully as You were so mean to me I did not want trouble with you and wanted you to be happy. I tried really hard but honestly knew you wanted nothing more than to bash me on here.)

Before I went to pick up my Chi puppy, Shannon said that she would include a dog carrier; a feeding kit that included Royal Canine dog food, nutri-cal tube, and other items; a puppy blanket with the mothers scent to make the puppys transition easier, a health certificate, CKC registration papers, and an outfit for her.  I received NO carrier for my puppy, a very small amount of Purina dog food mixed with sugar in a Ziploc sandwich size bag, less than 1 oz. of nutri-cal (not even enough for 1-2 days), no health certificate (I was promised one), and a brand new baby blanket with the tags still on it instead of a blanket with the moms scent.

 (You recieved Food, Nutrical, a blanket (new because on the 2 hr trip Chloe pottied on her scented blanket so I thought it would be better or more sanitary to give you a new blanket which your daughter loved) a tutu dress valued at 40.00 free as well as breed information, Health records from the vet, registration, extra wormer called pyrental and Albon. I'm sorry You thought you were getting a 10 lb bag of food.

ALSO The nutrical was discussed, You thought you'd get a whole tube so I credited you 20.00 for compensation which can buy you 2 tubes of nutrical. I did not charge you a meeting fee either as a courtesy)

I would most definitely not waste your time with this breeder. My vet said many things about this breeder are very shady at the least.  Shannon is obviously not an ethical breeder,considering she never stops selling puppies!
 
 (There's that word ethical which is used in the other bogus  reports and  is usually used by breeders to bash other breeders) I find it ironicyou would use the same word)

If need be, I will post the personal check you paid me with, the vet documentation and records for Chloe and the contract where I extended your 48 hrs to 2 weeks.

BUT I will not post anything negative about  you Vicki Servi I will just say, I tried everything I could to make you a satisfied customer even a 100% refund ----  Which is documented. I offer this still today! 100% refund and I'll even cover your vet fees for Chloe to date. Just simply bring her here or call us to meet you anywhere, anytime!!!

Ps. How can someone scam you when I have offered a 100% refund to make you happy?  before you posted this, after the inital deposit and several other times trying to work this out with you. Was it just your intent to bash me on here? Honestly what kind of person does this? You own a business too and I hope that someone gives you the oppurtunity to correct or resolve issues at hand instead of bash you online. No one is perfect and mistakes can and will be made but it's how we deal with the issues that arise that defines us as people. 
 
I gave you every oppurtunity to take back your deposit not because I was upsett with your questions because I welcome any and all questions * but because of the way you treated me as a person, You harrassed me constantly about the reports you read online which are fake and made up from other breeders. I explained all of this to you. 
  
You even visited my home to check me out before purchasing your puppy. You and your daughter spent 2 hours in my home playing with chloe, her sister Sugar and the mom. We took pictures, talked and had a great visit. Chloe's sister was also sold her name was sugar Baby NOW TEAYA) and there have been no health issues what so ever and they are very pleased with their baby.

I will conclude:   I will not go back and forth on this forum with you or anyone else who decides to jump on this ban wagon of Bashing.

All Of us know that on this site you can post anything about anyone with no proof what so ever reguardless of who gets hurt or slandered**** and its SAD.

Here's my personal experience with her, and how she SCAMMED me when I was trying to buy a Chihuahua puppy.  I ended up adopting a Chihuahua puppy from her, before I found out that she was a complete SCAM and had so many other complaints from other customers about her.
