Tom Kamerowski claimed to be a representative of the Erie County Court system (NY). Fraud, deceit. Claimed to be a court representative. Lied. Buffalo, New York

Received a call from a male representing himself as Tom Kamerowski (SP?), representative of the Erie County Court System. He was looking for information about my daughter and said I was named as a co-defendant in a court case. He claimed my daughter and I had missed a court date we were subpoenaed for. He said he was calling to clear this matter up because he believed the matter never should have gone to court and we shouldn't have a non-appearance on our court record. He continued to spew misinformation, all the while digging for more information. As it turns out, he was trying to collect on a supposed debt from (of all things) a magazine subscription that my daughter had agreed to three or four years prior. My daughter agreed to order 7 magazines for $26 but was contacted shortly after telling her her magazine choices weren't available and would she like to choose different magazines? That was the 'hook'. As it turns out, the new choices weren't included in the special offer so that offer was no longer valid and the total she supposedly owed was over $820. She was offered a payoff deal of $208 if she paid immediately.
My daughter spoke to the Erie County Court and they had no record of her missing a court date but told her to cancel the credit card she had used to pay and report him to the State Attorney General.

She did and is currently waiting on paperwork from Attorney General.
