This is parts of the initial complaint that was sent to USTF and their management.

My husband and I purchased a 2009 International Truck (Pro Star) from your Truck/ Trailer division.  Bryan Garner was our sales representative.  We are located in California so our conversations were mainly via telephone.  I am writing to inform you on the horrific customer service and unprofessionalism that we received from Bryan. 

On Saturday March 17, 2012 my husband called and spoke to Bryan advising him of the trucks status after the truck was picked up once the loan was funded.  Bryan had told my husband that he would have to wait for 24 hours after funding to pick up the truck so that it can be cleaned and prepped for delivery.  Upon, arrival the truck was defiantly not cleaned or even near that to be exact.  The cab had garbage, food rappers, and bottles of urine. [continued below]....
.....  The Truck also had the old company stickers on the side and back of the truck which was not removed.  My question and concern is that if the 24 hours was needed to clean the truck and prep it for delivery why were these items not removed?  Was this service not provided to us?  When my husband asked Bryan he became very defensive and angry.  He stated, that they are a big company and they make wholesale, big deals and he should not complain about little things.  He continued yelling and even cursing at my husband, saying that he needs to run with the big boys.  When my husband told him that he needed to refrain from yelling since he was calmly explaining to Bryan that was the condition of the truck he continued and disconnected his call.  My husband called back and he did not answer his call.  This is unacceptable and I cant imagine how be-littled he made my husband feel. 

My husband was misled by Bryan in several things.  He hide the damages on the hood  and the broken front light  in the photos that we received, he misled us on the mileage on the truck, and he told us that the back tires had new recaps and were 50% or better.  As for the photos we received had no damage and was hide so that we would not be able to see it directly.  The front light was broken as well.  We did not receive any pictures of the odometer as we requested. 

When the truck was advertised the mileage was 414 K.  The first call we placed to Bryan the miles were then 460 K.  Once the deal was finalized and the spec sheet was faxed to the lender the miles were 487,725.  When the truck was picked up after the deal was closed the miles were at 491 K.  I could understand a few hundred miles after the spec was done but 4 K miles is unheard of.  My husband was also told by Bryan that the engine still has 20 K mile warranty left on it.  The manufactures warranty on the engine is 500 K miles.    

Bryan also said that the tires and brakes were 50 % or better and the tires had new recaps, which also was not true.  The 4 back tires were at 9/32, 2 tires were at 13/32 and 2 were 15/32.  The front tires were at 16/32.  I understand that this is a big company but this is unacceptable from anybody regardless of the size and status of any company.

Purchase of a 2009 Pro Star Truck

Per the original report below made by Feroza and Sheik Fariyad dated 5/25/12 regarding the purchase of a 2009 Pro Star Truck, please note the following response:

1. Unprofessionalism of Bryan Garner (salesman): 

USTF CORP has been in business 17 years buying and selling heavy used equipment, truck and trailers at wholesale prices worldwide. We have a strict policy regarding professionalism and standards of quality in how we do business. After hearing Sheik Fariyad's description of Bryan's tone when speaking to him, Bryan was was immediately spoken to regarding any unprofessionalism that occured. Secondarily, the customers also requested a personal apology letter from Bryan which he wrote and emailed directly to them.

2. Cleanliness of Truck

Unfortunately, Bryan was not present to supervise the process of washing the truck as our company is in a different state than the location of the truck. However, he did ask the vendor to wash the truck before releasing it. Once the truck was paid for and washed per the vendor, the truck was released to a driver hired by Mr. Fariyad to be delivered in California, therefore, it should be noted that the driver of the truck should also be considered in questioning the condition of the truck once it arrived at the final destination.  

3. Hidden Hood Damage:

Bryan emailed Mr. Fariyad several pictures of the front and sides of the truck including the damage, which was clearly visible. These pictures were taken when Bryan personally inspected the truck and were immediately sent to the customer via email. After looking at the pictures, the customer called Bryan and asked him for a discounted price due to the damages. Bryan told the customer that there was no discount price because the truck was being sold at wholesale pricing, as-is, which the customer was completely aware of during the entire negotiating process. Please note that the customer had the opportunity to personally inspect the truck as well but chose not to do so. 

4. Tires:

Bryan stated that the tires were at 50% or better. The customer stated that the 4 back tires were at 9/32, 2 tires were at 13/32 and 2 tires were at 15/32. Brand new tires are at 16/32 therefore, all tires met the 50% requirement.
5. Mileage

Mr. Fariyad was considering two different trucks with different miles and pricing. Several email exchanges and phone calls were made between Mr. Fariyad, his banker and Bryan deciding which truck to purchase. In the end, he chose the truck with higher miles because of the lower pricing. The truck was first advertised in November, 2011. Based on 6 invoices sent to me by the vendor for repair work done on the truck, the miles were indicated as follows: on November 7, 2011 the miles were 442,467. On December 5, 2011 the miles were 455,854, on December 20, 2011 the miles were 462,306, on January 13, 2012 the miles were 473,836, on February 8, 2012 the miles were 483,652, and on February 27, 2012 the miles were 491,691. Bryan invoiced the customer on March 5, 2012 (4 working days after the last repair date of February 27th) and we received wire confirmation for payment on March 9th. This was a working truck and was not taken off the job until the customer was invoiced and payment to the vendor was made. Please note that the miles were at 491,691 on February 27, and more than likely not driven very much after that. Thus, the miles were at 491K at the time of the purchase as Mr. Fayihad stated.
