This home  was never zoned for hosting commercial weddings. The owner knew it and the wedding planner knew it. Your anger and lawsuits should be directed at them.  This is a residential neighborhood with little children playing on every corner.  Surely you could see that when you visited.  What makes you think that you could impose your day loaded with 150 PARTY GOERS on this quiet enclave.  What makes you think it is ok to disturb this quiet neighborhood for your selfish reasons.  If you had any manners you would have considered that yourself. Sounds as though the bride has the same moral disregard as Mr. Strelec.  They deserve each other Sanya Mitrovic, the wedding planner ,should be ashamed of herself.  If you are a professional, you should be familiar with the zoning laws. You knew this was not a legal venue.

Mr Strelec was well aware that what he was doing was not right. He had been contacted by the city many times.  The police had been called to every wedding that had been held there. Previous weddings were shut down leaving the brides in tears.Yes,he and the wedding planners were aware of this.PS. I would not count on getting your deposit back from Mr. Strelec.  He has huge financial problems and is running out of people to scam!

Please note that the above review was also posted on several wedding and event related websites.  Unlike Ripoff Report (ROR), those sites REQUIRE proof that the reviewer actually conducted business with the vendor being reviewed. After a formal request by those other websites on behalf of Venues in Paradise (VIP) to the reviewer for proof of business, a lack of response prompted a swift removal of this review from those reputable sites.  However, ROR adheres to a strict policy of PERMANENT posting (even if we were to request to remove this rebuttal, we cannot do so), regardless of fact, fiction, or otherwise.

Originally, because of the lack of response from the reviewer at the other websites they posted this review to, we believed that this false review was created by an unscrupulous competitor.   To be clear, we have NEVER purposely switched venues on ANYONE, or made false promises about what is included in an event. Everything we provide is in writing, and our attention to detail is exemplified by our lengthy contracts that are tailor-made to reflect the wants/needs of each and every client we serve.

However, within weeks of the posting date of this review, we were solicited by at least 6 separate Search Engine Optimization (SEO) companies offering to help us "remove" this review for a fee of $3-$7K!!!  We now believe that in this instance we (and others...see below) may also have become the victims of an elaborate campaign to elicit SEO-related service fees from one or more SEO companies.  

Shortly after the SEO's contacted us, we were also contacted by other coordinators in Chicago and New York that had also been contacted by the SEO's for a near IDENTICAL review!!!  Please see http://www.ripoffreport.com/event-planners-sites/susan-cordogan/susan-cordogan-susan-cordogan-f0920.htm
and note that the reviews are basically identical, with the exception that the names Sanya and Susan were interchanged (and in some cases, very sloppily left the same so that both coordinators names were used in the same review), for different weddings in different states.

Moral of the story, please be very careful about the reviews found here on ROR, as there is ZERO ability for legal investigation or proof of claims made.  Apparently you can just cut and paste reviews from one vendor to another for the sake of financial gain!!!
