I live in Ocala,Florida and have been here for over 35 years. I consider myself to be a good person. However that being said I realize now more then ever that there are people out there who try to exploit others every chance they get to make a profit.I recently posted an ad in a newspaper called the Village Crier. This newspaper originally was set up for the people who lived in the Villages which is a small town in Sumter County,Florida. The publisher Matthew Baillargeon recently extended it to Marion,Citrus and other communities to further line his greedy pockets. To make a long story short I own a small business in Ocala,Florida and I paid Boomtown Media Inc.(Village Crier) to have an ad placed in it.I waited for the ad to come out in newspaper and when it did it was not the correct size that I had paid for.I called their office and left numerous messages and never got a response until three days later.I then spoke to a person named Charlene Sestito and told her about the issue I had with my ad being wrong and that I was upset. She then said she would have the owner Matthew baillargeon call me back to discuss it.He called me back the next afternoon and told me that nothing was wrong with the ad and that I was mistaken.I then told him I had a copy of my invoice showing the correct ad size and that I would email it to him.He then started swearing and I then told him I wanted my money back.He through a fit again(this guy has a very short fuse) and told me that was not going to happen and to get lost..He started saying how he knows everybody and that if I complained it would not matter because I am just one person and that no one would believed me .I can't believe how this person who runs a business could treat someone like that. Its really upsetting that this guy is not the person he pretends to be.He has a dark side and it comes out whenever the matter relates to money.I strongly advised people to avoid this so called company and this dishonest person.

Ok so the ad was printed and displayed in the advert. But because it was the wrong size you want your money back?? I bet you feel its alright to eat a steak and then refuse to pay for it huh. You got exposure from the ad. It may not have been the right size but the information got out there. It was page space that could have been sold to someone else besides you. Instead of asking for a FULL refund, accept the fact that your ad got circulated. Maybe ask for either a partial refund. Something along the lines of what the difference would be between the 2 different ad sizes refunded back. Or ask for a discounted rate on your next advert to make up for the fact that your ad wasnt the size you wanted it displayed in.

Where I can understand that the ad MAY not have been the size you wanted, asking for your money back AFTER you have recieved the benifits from the service not only shows that you have no shame, but that you are the scammer. Its called compromise and common sense try and use some of both in this situation and you will end up happier in the long run.
