Beginning in mid-October, I began receiving almost daily, unsolicited phone calls from various representatives of Zoe Ministries.  Although I never answer these calls, the caller will immediately launch into their religious diatribe...leaving it on my voice messaging system.

This entity uses several different phone numbers when calling, including one which shows up on my Caller ID as being in Sully, Iowa.  In what little part of this ministry's calls I have listened to, they make blatantly outlandish claims regarding providing "prophesies" and implying they are "prophets."

I have already filed multiple complaints against Zoe Ministries on the Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call Registry website.  In addition, I have sent two (2) certified letters with a return receipt request to this entity's New York address for which I have the signed return cards verifying they received my letters.  In both letters I demanded they immediately cease and desist from any further calls to my non-published phone number.

It is quite apparent that Zoe Ministries considers itself exempt from compliance with the provisions of the Do Not Call Registry, as well as, telephone communications regulations against making annoying, harassing, and/or threatening phone calls.

As an additional effort to try and obtain assistance to put a stop to this invasion of privacy and blatant disregard for federal law, I have today sent a certified letter to the Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call Registry Program Manager filing a formal complaint against Zoe Ministries, providing them with a copy of the last certified letter I sent, as well as, the two certified mail serial numbers.

Interestingly enough, on the FTC's Do Not Call Registry website, it states they are unable to resolve individual complaints...that the information provided by complainants goes into some database.  My question is this:  Of what use is the Do Not Call Registry if the FTC is going to sit idly by while Zoe Ministries continues its reprehensible, abhorrent conduct?

This situation with Zoe Ministries is particularly detrimental to me as I subsist upon a very limited income of $1818.00 per month, combined Veterans Service-Connected Disability Compensation and Social Security Disability Compensation due to complications of adrenal cancer and some other serious medical problems.

I have had to now go and expend additional unnecessary funds each month just to obtain a selective call blocking service from my phone service provider in an attempt to block calls from each of the different phone numbers Zoe Ministries will use when calling my number.  These funds are money I need for essential, critical items such as medications and medical treatment.

I already have enough to deal with medically every single day.  I should not have to be subjected to added stress and expense of this nature.  How can I obtain any real help?

My sincerest thanks to anyone out there who cares!

HOW YOU GET THOSE CALLS TO STOP

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 21, 2010

IF THESE ARE NOT ROBO OR AUTOMATIC CALLS BUT A REAL HUMAN BEING ON THE OTHER END OF THE LINE, I HAVE A FORMULA THAT ALWAYS WORKS FOR ME.

WHEN THEY CALL, YOU IDENTIFY YOURSELF AS A FUNERAL HOME. TELL THEM THAT THE PREVIOUS PERSON WHO HAD THIS NUMBER WAS MURDERED BY A MEMBER OF ZOE MINISTRIES AND SEEMED TO BE A SUSPICIOUS DEATH AND THERE IS PROBABLY A TAP ON THE PHONE RIGHT NOW.

THAT SHOULD STOP THEM.

IF IT DOES NOT, GET A RECORDING OF  SOME SCARY HALLOWEEN SOUND EFFECTS AND TURN IT ON AND PUT THE PHONE NEXT TO IT AND WALK AWAY.

END OF CRANK CALLS.

ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES IS " I KNOW WHO YOU ARE. I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE, I WANT TO COME AND SEE YOU AND BRING ALL OF MY FRIENDS. THE ONES WHO DO BAD THINGS."

END OF CRANK CALLS.

WHEN I WAS A KID, I LOVED TO MAKE CRANK CALLS THEN CAME CALLER ID.

NO MORE FUN.

BUT THESE PEOPLE CALL ME!

SO I MAKE IT INTERESTING FOR THEM.

GOTTA LOVE IT.
