After having paid on my car loan for 2 years at 20% I fell behind on my payments due to job loss. They were calling and threatening me on a daily basis, but would not take a partial payment of any kind. These weren't normal conversations by any means. The representative was personally insulting, abusive, and threatening to me on the phone insisting that I pay immediately. These phone calls became pretty traumatic for me as time went on and answering the phone became less of a priority for me. They called me from a new number a couple of weeks ago, told me they were adding a $300 fee for their troubles and demanded payment again. This time they did take a partial money gram payment, even though it was more than my standard payment. A couple of weeks later they took my car, and everything in it, during the night anyway.
A search of the World Wide Web produced evidence that their game is to attempt to ransom the car back to me or sell off the loan to another party. I'm familiar with loss, and don't expect to see my car, or the items in it ever again. However, I am a single dad trying to stay afloat in this horrible economy, and I believe that this type of predatory lending should be against the law.

They always blame the lender

Your high interest rate is a reflection of your credit history. You accepted the rate at the time of purchase so why after you defaulted on the loan do you consider it to be predatory?
Your next interest rate will be much higher but you will accept it. Who will you blame when you default on that loan?
