I signed up with AT&T for their U verse services about a year ago. I have had nothing but problems with them ever since. I was not informed over the phone upon signing up for their services that my payments would have to be automatically linked to and automatically withdrawn from my bank account. I found this out later through the mail after the services were connected.
Then I was informed by the specialist that was taking my order for the services over the phone that for my Internet, cable and phone along with my DVR boxes that my bill would be $108.00 each month. Here it is almost a yr later and I have not yet ever paid as low as $108.00.
I called AT&T to see what was going on with my bill and to see why I was placed on automatic withdraw. They stated that I was placed on automatic withdraw because of my credit ratings and that this should have been explained to me in the beginning, which it was not.
Then I inquired about the bill as to why I was being charged more than I was originally quoted. They said hat the promotions that I was placed into never kicked in and that they would take care of the problem. A couple of more months goes by and still They are deducting out of my account more than quoted.
I call them back again requesting to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor states the same thing as I was told the last time that the promotions did not kick in. I requested to speak with someone higher up and they informed me that they don't have any contact information for anyone higher up such as a director.
This supervisor informed me that they had rectified the problem and that they got my bill back down to around 116. Now plus tax. I was assured that it was personally taken care of. A couple more months goes by and I just happened to look at one of my bank statements and noticed that my bill has been going up at least ten dollars every month for the past few months now.
At this point I am really irate and I called them back demanding to speak with someone higher than a supervisor and again my request was refused. I went on line and pulled up the headquarters office number myself and spoke with one of the assistant directors and he wanted to know how I got his number and I informed him that I got it through the Internet. He informed me that if too many people get that number then they will have it changed.
I expressed my concerns with him he like all the others stated that some promotions have dropped off and others did not kick in. Again he like all of the others gave me his word that he had corrected my account and that he had gotten my bill down to 111. Plus tax. Once again I checked my bill and it was 177.
I feel that they are pulling a big time bait and switch on people to lure them in to purchase their services and once you are signed up and locked in you will never pay what they promised that you would pay. I feel that everyone that has this company as their provider should be informed as to what they are doing. Especially the customers that are forced to be on automatic withdraw because not everyone is micromanaging their bank statements each month to see what supposedly reputable companies are taking out of their accounts. Most people trust these supposedly reputable companies to be charging them what they were quoted to be paying.
I can only imagine how many other consumers are truly unaware of what they are truly paying for these services. And I have personally ran into some other people that are having the same problems with this company. Upon signing up for their services and being quoted one price and never end up paying that price it is always higher.
I am begging that someone investigate this and get the word out to all of these other customers so that they can be aware of what is going on.

If they qouted you pricing, I'd suggest filing reports with some government agencies (e.g. FCC).
