I am writing to you today about Bob's Discount Furniture and the shyster racket that they have going on with Guardian Protection.  More commonly known to Bob's Loyal customers as GOOF PROOF!!!You are told, as my family and I were told that if you purchase this Goof Proof Protection your furniture will be protected and if it can't be fixed  and; or cleaned you will be given the choice of picking out a new set of furniture or equal value of what you purchased originally. What they don't tell you is that not everything is covered, for instance yesterday my daughter got a hold of Diaper cream and smeared it all over my couch. 

I was like well we have the coverage everything will be okay!  OH wait not so much, I forget how much extra we paid for the 6 pieces of furniture that we purchased at the time but we thought it was worth it because we have two kids!  HA!  Well it's not worth it because from speaking with these women who answer the phones at the call center to handle your claims; I have learned many things.  1) At least one of them I believe her name was Judy was ignorant and rude as the day is long!2) That diaper cream under there terms is classified as a CHEMICAL! 

Yes that is correct a chemical!  So I went through the Goof Proof Warranty again and no where in there does it say that they won't cover diaper cream, but they have deemed this a "Preventable" act.  So when I my 2 year old did this I should have been awake and watching her at all times!  Or more in laymens terms or how I see it is everything will be classified as preventable so that Guardian doesn't have to pay out a claim to Bob's and replace & or clean your furniture.

I called back because I had called Bob's to reach out to them for some assistance in this matter and I was told that the reason that this was denied was because it's a chemical.  Again I really doubt that I would be putting a chemical on my child's bottom! With the lack of remedy I received from Bob's Customer Service Rep & their Liason to Guardian I decided to call back the claim # to Guardian, and argue that Diaper Cream is not a Chemical.  This is when Judy enters the picture, I explained everything from the 1st call and Judy pulled it up, and she said no that is correct it's a chemical. 

I said no it really equates more to a grease and tried to explain that and she was ignorant and told me there is no arguing it, this isn't covered go call a license service technician and pay for it to be cleaned.  When I asked about my couch cushions she said 7-10 days and hung up on me. Lesson learned kids if you buy anything from Bob's which I would never do again; I would absolutely not get the Goof Proof because they choose what they will & will not cover and there is no grey area at least that is what I was told. So  reprensentitive from Bobs' Discount Furniture's corporate office contacted me via this website and said that they would refund me the money on spent on their ridiculous and horribly administrated Goof Proof warranty.  

I contacted the North Plainfield store on 01/30/2013 and they refunded the money and it was supposed to be on my card in 3 - 5 business days.   It's not 02/19/2013, 13 business days later and still my card has not been credited.  I have sent two emails to Eric Maurer to let him know that I still have not received my credit and I have heard nothing. 
SERIOUSLY!  I really just want to stop people from falling for this gimmick of a warranty!  It's BS What's more my couches are falling apart 2 years later!  You get what you pay for people pay the extra!  I can't get them fixed and I am so utterly annoyed it's not even funny!

BOB's Discount Furniture should be named BOB's Ripoff furniture!
