I called to schedule an oil change and asked them if they honored competitior coupons.  Larry informed me he did.  After the oil change, I presented a $17.95 coupon from Sun Devil Auto at which time Larry told me I should have told him earlier so he could honor it.  When I reminded him I did, he said I needed to have shown it to him physically first.  He said I could use it next time and charged me $29.95.  He must think I was born yesterday if he thinks I would give him another oportunity to service my car. It is extremely poor customer service to tell me one thing, do another, and then to tell me he will honor his word next time.  Do you remember a time in which you were blatantly lied to, and the liar expected you to actually trust him/her again?  Fool me once, you're the fool.  Fool me twice, and better watch out because social media does the advertisiing (good and bad) a lot more effectively then just one lone voice!

I let them know

When I called and made the appointment, I gave them my information and asked them if they honored competitor's coupons and told them the coupon.  When they completed the sale, I showed them the coupon at which time he told me I should have shown him the coupon first and he would honor it next time.  If he was going to honor it "next time".  He could have chose to honor it at the time I showed it to him, and not decieved me.  Further, he did not charge me the right price for the $24.95 oil change and charged me 29.95 before tax.  I will not do business with companies or individuals when their intent is to overcharge.  His actions are consistent with a business who does not put the customer first and deal fairly.

You are wrong...

Very often when you use a coupon, especially when you have one from another business, you show the business common courtesy and let them know before they begin the service.   You did NOT do this, all you did was call them up and ask them if they accept competetors coupons.

So you were not lied to.  Perhaps it was an honest mistake on your part for not doing this. Or perhaps you are some self-entitled PITA customer who totally knew what they were doing.  Either way, it is not a RipOff if you failed to tell them before they performed there service.

Now, if you go back again.  Give them a valid coupon when you first bring your car in and they still refuse to accept it...then you may have a valid complaint.
