California School of Law is a predatory institution. Stay away! California School of Law is an online law school run by attorney William Hunt. Mr. Hunt is unscrupulous by letting anyone sign up for his school and later culling the herd with false accusations of cheating and/or not paying loan fees on time, etc. etc. – Mr. Hunt is both the sole proprietor and “Dean” of the school, which puts him at odds with the financial interests vs. educational interests of the school. In other words, he is there to make money, not provide a law education.
There is no “school,” It is a 500 sq. ft. office in Santa Barbara which runs virtually “online” as a “law school”, unaccredited, and employing newbie attorneys as professors. Some of the professors have less than 5 years of actual legal practical experience! All the professors teach out of their home, with kids and animals running around in the background. Often, the professors are late to “class”, but when they call roll, and you are late because of domestic obstacles, look out. These so called professors can be nasty about it too. It wouldn’t be hypocritical if these professors themselves were professional and punctual, but it’s a double standard meant to cull the herd.
Peer study is a joke. Your “classmates” are out in cyber space studying on their own. Many of them are flakes and pretenders, but since you don’t actually meet them in person (ever) you cannot easily decipher the flakes from the Alpha pack. Get tangled up in the wrong group and you become the cull.
Sadly, William Hunt could care less. He’s getting upwards of $9,000 per year per student, billed at a rate of $3,000 per trimester. This means if William Hunt culls the herd by accusing students of cheating, failing academic “probation” or not paying fees on time, he must do so before the start of the next tri mester if the student is to avoid being billed the next round. But that doesn’t happen. The student gets the next Tri-Mester bill even though they get kicked out.
There are other former SOL students who have lodged complaints similar to this. Do yourself a huge favor and avoid this school! It is a shady operation that presents well online, but ultimately is a suck hole for prospective law students. Do your research and locate a better school for the money and remember, we told you so!

We would respond to this but we suspect this is an irrate former student who possibly failed out. Nasty reviews are unfortunately a part of doing business. To get the real facts on this school speak to current students and graduates.
