Hello my name is Jason Roberson and I am reaching out to seek options and solutions to an issue with an unethical auto mechanic business in parker Colorado. If possible I would like to help future consumers avoid these situations.
I have over 5 years of documented timely care for my vehicle and after a knocking sound in the engine I had it towed to Centennial auto repair located on parker road and e-470 I was in contact with a Zach, who called multiple times daily to update me on issues and parts needed to fix the vehicle. The parts needed were on back order it took about 3 weeks for the vehicle to be fixed. The price was a firm $3,800 worst-case scenario according to Zach and I was promised I would receive a call prior to any other work being done or a change in price.
Next contact from the company was a call from a person Jeff saying the vehicle was finished he also informed me the price had went up $194.24. He told me my initial contact Zach was fired and he had no idea what Zach have told me to get me business, tough luck on the higher quote. First red flag.
I went in that week paid $3,400 and signed a single page receipt stating labor and parts. I returned on my next payday lunch hour to retrieve my vehicle. This time another page of issues needing attention was added to the receipt. After payment I started the engine up to the slowest start in my ownership of the vehicle. The engine light came on immediately and I was told after an oil cycle it would go off. The person who took payment said, ”They just wanted me to drive it.” A part of the vehicle was actually sitting on the passenger seat and after 20 minutes of waiting on the mechanic who worked on the car to be located I had to return to my office. Pictures were taken of the part and I was to receive a call later. I never did.
The vehicle sputtered to my job and felt over all weak that Friday. After worked I picked up my wife and 5 month old son to run errands in preparation for my upcoming surgery. While driving my family around the steering wheel locked in a straight position and needed tremendous force to turn. I tried to navigate safely up parker road. Very scary and I drove very very slow to get my family home without an accident.
I stored the vehicle in my garage and went into surgery on Monday. My wife called Jeff and was told for just $75 I could have a tow truck come and get the vehicle. My wife stated we paid nothing for the initial tow and the car not only is not completely put back together but not functioning and a hazard. Just like the higher payment Jeff would not budge on a tow price and stated to my wife how they had documents of them mentioning the other issues the vehicle had. The Stand Jeff immediately took made it apparently clear that this 3rd problematic encounter was not a situation of a misunderstanding but blatant unethical practice. I filled a complaint with the BBB. 2 days later received a call from Centennial auto shop asking if we wanted to pay for the $75 tow and they would reimbursed it. After declining to pay, centennial auto repair towed the vehicle at no cost. After the vehicle was towed I received a call stating “just like we thought the other issues of the car didn’t hold up coincidently,” and I can quote you on a fixing price.” My wife asked if the part on the seat was replaced from the original fix, Jeff said no. We stated we would not make any further payment until the value caught up with the current dollar amount already spent. Totaling $3994.24
With my surgery I am missing a lot of work and with the holidays it is a financially tight time of the year to just give 4k away and be told I can’t even have my vehicle returned in the condition it was given.
My ultimate goal is the retuning of the money paid for service that was not completed and the closure of a business that has no regards for ethical business and no value placed on customer service.
The price was changed, my rang rover should not have parts on the seat and no one wants to place their family’s life in danger when a vehicle fails the same day it was picked up.
