I was billed for a late fee when my payment was sent online by my bank on 2/8/2010 and the payment was due 2/12/2010, and late fee as a date of 2/13/2010, Chase should of had my payment before that date.

This was a new account number because my old account had been compromised in January of 2010, which may have been some of the problem, as well as with the winter snow storms also.

I have been a very faithful customer to Chase Bank and I beleive they are out to make all the easy money they can put in their pockets, they shouldn't be a member of Wall Street but of Highway Robbery Ave.

Doubt it had anything to do with snow...

..except for the snow job the bank gave you. 2/8 was a Monday..snow does not slow down electronic payments..4 days is plenty of time at almost the speed of light for electronic funds to transfer.

Good news on the horizon though..these types of tactics are going to be going away. I already noticed with some of my accounts that the online payment delays are going away..and some even state that if a weekend or holiday cause a lateness..the fee is to be waived.

Granted it took so many complaints and pressure from congress and lawsuits to help us..but considering the economic crisis that has been ongoing for some time now..you would think with the bailouts the banks would have been more fair to us taxpayers..but they used this recession to their advantage..by doing things such as raising interest rates, fee-ing for any and every reason possible regardless of the circumstance, and canceling some card holders for not using the card enough..even though they were never late on a payment and had a low balance..imagine that??..screwing up our credit ratings for doing the RIGHT thing...thank you banks..thanks a bunch.

Next time they fail...I sincerely hope no more bailouts are given..let natural selection take it's course..the ones that play fair will still be standing.
