We made a rather large purchase of bar stools, large mirror, a dining table and 8 chairs as well as a lounge suite for our brand new house.  As we handed over our credit card , we were informed by the sales person that most of the items were on back order that we would have to wait.

We were obviously extremely disappointed, as we have rooms that are unfurnished.  The sales person gave us the dates that the furniture would be delivered:

Dining room table, 4 dining room chairs and bar stool the next day;
Mirror and remaining 4 chairs 1 week later (Monday March 19th, 2012)
Lounge suite: April 19th.

He further said that this would be worse case scenario, as Citi allows itself some extra days to deal with the arrival of new stock.  Reluctantly we decided to accept the delayed delivery and paid the total amount if full and left the showroom feeling extremely disappointed.

To make matters worse, we only received the dining room table and 2 chairs the next day (not 4 as promised).  Monday the 19th came and went with no further delivery of the remaining chairs and mirror.  We called the customer service line just to be told that the delivery dates have now been moved an additional month out!!

Also, the very unhelpful customer service supervisor, advised that they cannot guarantee the new dates and in all possibility the dates will change again! So now best case scenario, we might be able to furnish our formal living room by the end of May 2012!

 When I asked why we were not informed, she simply reply that, if you are not on the delivery list, the customer will not be advised of any date changes (and you cannot be on the delivery list until the furniture is received by Citi).

She advised that we should either choose something else or ask for a refund. After reading more complaints on this site, I now understand that a refund will take 10 14 business days.  Simply said: we will never be purchasing anything from Citi Furniture ever again!
