Consumer Survey Specialists posing as Michael F. Inc. in Minnetonka MN SCAM Artists now hitting USA from SPAIN via the Internet and Mystery Shopper wannabes and using Bank of America and Minnetonka Minnesota

Overseas scam artists are very busy and becoming more technically savvy! The fraudulant checks look so convincing that even your own bank personnel won't think twice about depositing them to your account.

Long story short, this outfit is becoming more creative.  Sad to say, the bank the check was supposedly drawn on (Bank of America) wasn't interested in learning about this scam.  Individuals in the Security and Fraud departments acknowledged the scam and said since my account was not with B of A they "couldn't" pursue the complaint.  Apparently "good will" is not as valuable to this bank as it should be.  My bank personnel were shocked about B of A attitude.

I eventually filed a complain with my local police.  The office came to the house to take  my statement and was very considerate and interested in what I had to tell him.  I provided him with all materials I received in mail, including the envelope with the post mark, and a copy of the fraudulent check.  

Because this particular group of losers operates outside of the U.S., there is no legal recourse.  I lost no money in this deal (except for the fee the bank charged to take the money out of the account...but, hey, I got 1/2 of the amount back so I consider the $7.50 a "wise up" fee).  Rather than just feeling embarrassed, I decided to complain.

There are lots of legitimate mystery shopping jobs available; I did a number of them in California and everything was always done in a professional manner.  BEWARE of AND unsolicited checks coming your way.  

Save all your materials, print out any info from the internet, and present it to your local police; if you can warn just one person about these scams, you're doing something worthwhile.
