This is a warning to anyone thinking about taking a job with the Verizon door to door company Dimensions marketing. I started my "career" with Dimensions Marketing a handful of weeks ago and I must say I was very displeased with the overall experience. Starting with the owner of the business Hilary, at first I was impressed with her drive and professionalism but after a short time I realized she is one of the fakest people I have ever encountered. She lied mainly about the job itself which is 100% commission and consists of going from house to house in unsafe neighborhoods trying to sell them cable and internet from Verizon. In the interview I was told we were following leads but it turned out that we went to every single house and the only ones we didn’t visit were the houses that already had Verizon cable. I was impressed by the office itself which seemed pretty nice and the fact that she told me that they work with several fortune 500 companies but it turns out that was just a lie and all they do is sell cable door to door at Dimensions which is nothing close to what they led me to believe when they brought me in for an interview.

Next she lied to me about the pay, in the interview she explained it was super easy and everyone in the company sold 2 apps a day. (an app is considered a sale) the average price she said of making a sale was 150 dollars upon starting there I found out it was a requirement to work 7 days a week so doing the quick math that would mean the average person made 300 a day times 7 days that’s $2,100 a week! Multiply that by 52 weeks that’s over 100k a year! What a liar! After talking to some of the employees they don’t make anything even close to that not even the top people! I think it is safe to assume the rest of the employees weren’t making a lot of money either considering most of them looked homeless with very tattered and torn suits and I also found out that  several of them have criminal records so worrying about my safety at work is never an ideal situation.

Once I became wise to Hilary’s deception and lies I began to realize that she literally offers the position to anyone who applies and tries to brain wash them into thinking they will someday be running their own office making hundreds of thousands of dollars, and that’s when I decided to leave Dimensions Marketing. Nothing against some of these employees because I realize everyone needs to make a living but if they think Verizon is going to let a bunch of black guys covered in tattoos with criminal records run an office for them they are sorely mistaking. She has everyone in the office brainwashed about running their own company because she gives an hour long high pressure sales meeting every day and basically turns the office into her own personal cult. Every time an employee makes a sale Hilary makes money from it so it was very obvious to me why she hired every single person that applied, she could care less that they worked 7 days a week and could have made more money at McDonalds as long as its extra income for herself. To some of the employee’s defense as rough as some of them were they actually came across as pretty nice. As a testament to them if they are able to tolerate her preachy annoyingly fake voice for a couple hours a day maybe they do have the mental toughness for this position, I however did not. One of the employees also told me that she doesn’t let any of them go out on the weekends which doesn’t seem legal to me.

In conclusion I’m not sure if my analysis of Dimensions Marketing will actually be read by anybody but I did want to give a fair warning I would have appreciated upon applying there. Hilary Thurmond is a very very fake person and unless your goal is to have her treat you like a child and make average money selling cable door to door I would suggest not taking the job there.

Yikes!

AUTHOR: Boom Boom - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 11, 2015

I went on an interview to this place the summer of 2014. My interview was apparently scheduled at the same time as the daily meeting (1 pm), so I sat there for an hour waiting to be seen. Let me tell you, I could hear every word of that meeting and I was shocked by this Hillary woman. I’m guessing that’s who I was hearing; she sounded like some maniacal crazy person, to be honest. I clearly remember this because it was the day after Robin Williams died, and she was ranting about how he lost his motivation and gave up, and if the people at the office gave up, they would wind up like ‘all the other people with dead eyes sitting in traffic on the parkway every day, or worse, like Robin Williams’. I sat there getting more and more livid at the way she’d taken such a sad tragedy of mental illness and depression and tried to warp it to use for her own gain. She sounded ignorant and insensitive and it was all just so highly offensive. I finally left, nearly laughing in the very apologetic receptionist’s face when she asked if I’d like to reschedule. I am really happy this place went under  : )

Your ignorance is bliss

AUTHOR: Katie Cohee - ()

POSTED: Monday, November 03, 2014

To anyone reading these posts:

Be aware that the person who posted this novel complaint was someone who barely showed up to work and had a bad attitude for the three weeks she worked with our company. THE MONEY IS REAL! But if you don't work- you don't make any.

I have been been working with this company for 7 months and have cleared just over 45,000 so far. Yes, we work long hours and we work SIX days a week (Sunday is an option because it is a commission position) but that is to benefit our own pockets.

This is not a pyramid strategy company- it is a company that VERIZON FIOS wants to grow into 60 markets in the next year. If you're not aware of the difference then you're just as ignorant as your post implies.

Belief what you want- a lazy anonymous post on the internet or all of the young professionals scoring 50k within their first year of working with the company.

If you want to apply for an incredible opportunity find us at dimensionmarketingpa.com

Hilary Thurmond?

POSTED: Friday, October 31, 2014

Hilary, that was well written, I must admit.  However your essay about yourself does not make Dimension Marketing any more of a better opportunity for anyone.  I agree, it is an "opportunity" and that is pretty much it.  Good Luck Hilary, you will be is business for less than 5 years, that is a FACT!

Waste of Time

AUTHOR: RogSam - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, October 14, 2014

I recently answered an Ad that claimed Dimensions Marketing was a sports marketing company looking to hire someone interested in sports marketing. So similar to your previous claim I was pretty pissed when I found out they dont work with any sports related team or company and all they do is sell verizon Fios packages door to door. The ad made it seem like they dealt with sports and that is exactly what the person I talked to on the phone made it seem like. It was a complete waste of time and nothing to do with sports marketing I wish I knew how to report them to Monster or Careerbuilder or wherever I originally found the ad at but I guess I'll have to settle for writing this paragraph. And your description of the owner seems accurate.

A Legitimate Opportunity

AUTHOR: Miss Boss - ()

POSTED: Monday, September 01, 2014

I am going to make this short and sweet... The sole purpose of this review is only to express what I have observed and learned since first starting employment with Dimension.(Keep in mind, most of the people reviewing this company/Hilary were ONLY working there for most likely 1 day to 2 weeks. I've been there for over 6 months.)

I have been an employee of Dimension Marketing since February 2014. Hilary Thurmond(the owner/director of operations) is not only an excellent manager, but she is a person that actually CARES and NURTURES the growth of her employees, inside and outside of work. Hilary is very knowledgable and experienced in what she does. In all the time I've known her, she has completely distinguished herself with her diligence, humor, optimism, energy, and drive in the workplace. Her work in our company has resulted in many awards and achievements from which I hope inspires others in what can be achieved. Of course, I can't forget to mention her excellent managerial skills, trustworthiness, and sense of humor. She is an outstanding "coach" and the team-oriented environment she has created at our company is absolutely irreplaceable and invaluable. And most importantly, she doesn't ask anybody to perform any task that she wouldn't be willing to do herself.

The growth/advancement opportunity is absolutely legitimate. I was given a raise within my first month there and promoted within 3 months. The average employee receives their first promotion within 2-3 weeks.

The job does require a lot of time and effort that most people are not willing to put in. They make it very clear during the interview process that this is a full-time job(40+). There isn't a single question that they are not willing to answer open and honestly. These positions are not for everybody, but I have seen many people reap the benefits from putting in the right amount of effort and energy into it.

Most employees work there because they really enjoy the ability to be able to work hand in hand with the client(s) and build relationships with them and the clients' customer base. The training is extremely structured and they do EVERYTHING by the book. They ARE NOT a pyramid scheme or a scam by ANY means. By definition, "In a pyramid scheme, an organization compels individuals to make a payment and join." They do don't do this! They most certainly are not scamming people either(and I have the pay stubs to prove it!). They are very clear, especially during the interview process, that the company does sales and marketing.

Anybody that sees one of Dimension Marketing's job ads online and it sounds like something you'd like to experience or hear more about, I definitely urge you to take that first step...apply and come in for an interview to meet the team and at least see what they have to offer you. Don't listen to the opinion of ignorant, judgemental people. Formulate your OWN opinion!

Sales Cult

AUTHOR: Aaron - ()

POSTED: Thursday, August 14, 2014

I went for an interview and was impressed by the overall environment, and as you stated Hillary appeared very professional. Then she spoke with the very fast pace scripted sales jargon, she did apppear very deceptive. I immediatly thought "oh here we go". These type of companies are designed to produce an assembly line of workers who will continually make the people at the top money. while recyling people like waste products. Verizon should be ashamed of themselves, the call center i worked for at Verizon was just shut down because they use companies like this to exploit workesr and use in your face pressure to sell their products, because the cost to do business is cheaper.

SALES CULT- They Almost got me!

AUTHOR: Mad Rapper - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, July 30, 2014

Hello, I'm so sorry to learn of your exsperience with Dimension Marketing. I just wanted a cal center customer service position... They called me the next day and wanted me to interview the following day (odd). Dimension Marketing (don't forget the X) is a sales cult and a pyramid scheme. If they would have trully read my resume they would have been more cautious on how they preceded. I'm strongly suggest that you report them to the Dept. of Labor (about not letting employess leave and 7 day wk weeks). After reviewing there website (majority professional stock photos) but if you google earth the location of their worldwide headquarters its literaly in the gutter on a dirt road! I'm sorry once again that your time was wasted searching for gainful employement, But thank you for confirming some of my inital perceptions. They should not be allowed to recruit on monster and other reputable jod finding sities.

Good Luck and God Bless You
