Electric District 3 I have been in Maricopa for 11 years. In that time I have had billls range from 100.00 to 1000.00. ED3 makes City of Maricopa a future Ghost town! Maricopa Arizona

My home is 2690 square feet and my bills are around 400.00 in the summer and around 150.00 in the winter.  I cannot understand how a smaller home like yours eats so much electricity.  My parents house runs around $800.00+ a month but they have a very large pool and keep lights/tvs/etc on all the time.  I know Arizona gets really hot in the summer but you have a dry heat.  Dallas gets hot too but we have a humid heat.

 Also, what do you pay per kilowatt hour?

My 1440 sq ft house in colorado, where it's a lot cooler than Arizona used 1800 - 1900 kwh in the summer months at a cost of about 11 cents/kwh at tier 2 summer rates.  This was in 2010.  I keep my house at 76 degrees in the summer.

Fall of 2010 I put in an 8 kwh solar system and my summer bill is now $8.41, which is the facility charge to the power company.

Not so sure your rates are out of line. 

I really would be interested in your usage and rate per kwh, if you could post it.
