All the following franchise auto repair facilities are scamming, lying, unethical thieves:
Firestone, Valvoline, Monro, Jiffy Lube, Midas and Meineke. Don't know about Pep Boys yet!
If you all have even a fraction of intelligence in your little brains, then stay the f**k away from these scum auto repair facilities. All of these thieving facilities put out bait and hook great looking low priced coupons for dummies who believe this crap. Then people who know nothing or even little about cars are sold all kinds of useless nonsense and many times the work is not even done and you get charged for it anyway until you find out it wasn't done later, by an honest mechanic. The people in these auto franchises are just sociopathic liars and even if you go in their and know about cars, they will still try to upsell you garbage because lying has become a natural habit for these unskilled greedy as*****s

Here's a couple of examples about the above referenced thieves:
Monro did an entire brake job on my Honda. I was charged a small fortune and they put on brake pads that cost $10 on eBay and tons of dust was coming off them too. I found out about a month later going into Sears that Monro never did the brake fluid change but these as******s sure as hell charged me for it. I called Monro they acted ignorant, told me it was a mistake to get it done at Sears and present the bill to them for refund. I had to go back to Monro three times every time the Manager was conveniently nowhere to be found. The third time I went I told the mechanic on duty that I was calling the Cops as I've had it because they were committing fraud and larceny. This mechanic got nervous and reimbursed me right away. F'n as*****s. Never give up or let up with these scum thieves. Take out criminal complaints, call the Cops, make a scene in front of the other customers, file a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General's Office, always pay by credit card then dispute it to the hilt after being ripped off and especially if these shops installed junk in your cars. My wife went to Valvoline on Montvale Ave in Woburn because her windshield wiper broke off in a rain storm. I explained to her not to let those thieves upsell her any garbage. She drove out with a charge on her credit card for over $468 these f'n scum thieves supposedly did an automatic transmission flush on an 08' Honda that you are not supposed to do, sold her all kinds of unnecessary work and there is no evidence that it was even done. I called the Manager and he acted like he didn't do anything wrong. You know why? Because when a person lies and scams day and day out it just becomes
second nature. I called the Headquarters of Valvoline and they just gave me the same run around. They all rip people off with full intention and knowledge of what they are doing. These people should be facing criminal charges and criminal investigations and shut down.

Meineke I went in to ask them about a rattle in my exhaust. I already was told what the problem was a simple fix. The Manager at Meineke went out to talk to the mechanic then the Manager took me over to the mechanic and he was obviously told what to do and say by the thieving Manager who was probably the owner as well. I was told I needed almost $400 worth of work. When the Manager came into the garage the mechanic then said oh ya! you need some brake work done too. The Manager then tried to put the pressure on me saying we can do it right now. I said well I work for a living and don't have enough money this week to have all that work done but I'll come in next week when I get my next pay check. Ya right! These as******s! Trying to rob, scam and steal my hard earned money. F You! The exhaust needed an $8 rubber to hold the exhaust, that's it. What a bunch of lying low life thieves. These guys want their cake and want to eat it too. I want to live in a mansion to and drive a Porsche but I won't do it by ripping people off for a living. When you think about it if any person did this to someone else they would be charged with larceny and grand larceny. So, why do these thieves have a license to steal? They should be brought to justice and it can only be done when you ignoramuses start opening your mouths, start complaining and hold on to your hard earned money. You'll stay poor and they will get richer because you don't say anything and keep going to these thieves.

Firestone put in some cheap brake rotors and pads start with a W these rear rotors are all rusty now after only one week. I had asked Firestone for the old rotors back that came withe the Honda when it was purchased new and they reluctantly gave them to me. I went to a Honda Dealer and we were told that nothing was wrong with the rear rotors and that they are still in great shape and were not even rusted like the garbage that the Firestone in Wilmington Massachusetts sold us. Now I am going to file all kinds of complaints against Firestone for being lied to, ripped off and having our hard earned money stolen from us. These people have no conscious or consideration that people have to get out of bed and go to work for a living to pay these huge bills where we are all being ripped off. The best way to avoid a situation like being lied to and ripped off is just go to the Dealer pay a little more money and get all the oem parts installed. If this is too costly hire a mobile mechanic make sure he/she is certified has references and they can do the job right in your driveway after you go and buy the parts at the Dealer yourself and you will save tons of money the mechanic will make out good and both will be happy. Dealerships are middlemen like these scam artists they charge between $75 and $120 an hour to us and most of us don't even make close to these hourly wages and these greedy ba*****s pay their mechanic between minimum to $14 an hour if that, while the lying scamming service advisor is getting huge commissions and hourly wages for sitting on his/her butt drinking coffee, eating donuts and telling you a good tale with a devious smile on their faces. A friend of ours went to Jiffy Lube with a Toyota Sequioa for a oil change only. She knows nothing about cars and she left Jiffy Lube with a bill of almost $480 for pure nonsense. These low paid mechanics are to blame for all these problems because their GOD is the money and they are like little minions doing what their bosses tell them to do, that is lie, scam and upsell nonsense that no one needs to pad their already huge bank accounts. Anyone and everyone that doesn't speak up against this injustice is part of the problem. So, stop patronizing any and all of the above mentioned franchises altogether, file all kinds of complaints and don't be shy to speak up. After all it is your hard earned money. Isn't it?

Okay i get it, Auto repair sucks. Even worse than that, is facing the fact that being proactive is better than reactive what it comes to your auto. I work for one of the shops in question. But before that i was a car guy. I always cracked open my owners manual and ACTUALLY READ IT!!! Even the hard to understand sections. So I find it funny that you, Mr. seems to know it all, just bounces around from shop to shop.

First off... Seek help.. Quick. And medication if available. It seems to me that you just have trust issues or a string of bad luck. What you have to learn with these corporations (not franchises in most cases) is that they are there to keep you happy. We all know that you find some shady turd mechanic here and there, but it's becomming more rare. I know for a fact that fluid exchanges in your Honda (like the transmission flush) are scheduled maintenance items. If anything, yes. The dealership will provide you with OEM replacement parts.. Oh yeah, that's when they have them in stock.. Did you know that all dealerships have accounts with many parts houses (Autozone included) to get parts quick? If they always had to wait for their cheap parts to get sent out and have their name stamped on them you'd be waiting forever just to get work done! And dealerships are franchised, so they have more to lose! Ask anyone who works at one.. Ask if they've ever done anything cheap or free.. (Besides warranty work.) Yeah right.

Oh, and just because some of this work is recommended doesn't mean you HAVE to buy it while you're there. If you're p*ssed off because your dumb friends/ wife spend all this money without asking you first (Because it obviously seems like you just so happen to know EVERYTHING) than that's their own fault! Get a life and stop complaining about every little thing. I would love for you to actually see how some of those places are operated and I'm sure your mind would change.. Well, I guess it depends on just how thick-headed you really are.
