forest city took all my housing allowance and still charged me for electricity. maintenance was horrible and unprofessional. their garage door hit my car and now they are making my car insurance pay for it. Honolulu Hawaii

while living in military housing forest city took all my bah which comes out to 2250. in other states bah in housing covers all utilities.  I lived in a duplex house with my wife and no kids. The house was using 600 to 700 dollars in electricity. when we went over a buffer they set up we had to pay out of pocket which was every month. their maintenance was horrible and lazy workers.  in September as my wife was backing out of the garage, the garage door hit my car it hit it so hard that it pushed the car forward and the garage door came out of its place. Their Security guard got the intinial report but no one ever came to fix my Garage door. the door was left open for over a week which is a Violation in with Homeowners laws. I ended up fixing the door myself because no one showed up to fix it. as we kept calling for a car no one ever called us about fixing my car. by December we had a schedule appointment but no one showed up, thats when I decided to move out of that place.

when we had our pre move out inspection the inspector showed up saying that she was hung over and burping patron from the new years eve. when we told her to take her shoes off in our house she responded by saying that her shoes were clean because she walked on asphalt and took off upstairs.  her inspection lasted 5 minutes which concerned me because this company charges outrageous prices for anything that they find broken. when I reported this to the main office they filed a complaint on her but added words to my statement that I had never said. the next day I get a call from the QA managers telling me he was concerned about his worker and chewing me out(he was prior military) and not letting me explain my side of the story.  he ended up apologizing and turned out to be a great person but his employee lied to him and told him a different story that's why he was really upset. I was scheduled for a re inspection which went well.

before I moved out I told the manager I was not going to pay my rent untill my car because it was already January and I had not received a call from anyone.  she gave me the number of one of their insurance agents which I tried calling for two weeks. they gave me a second number which I could never reach. come to find out the first number that was given to me was from a worker that hed quit months ago and the other number was from another worker that was hospitalized.  at the end they told me that my insurance jad to pay for the damage because that was the reason I have car insurance.  Now my insurance is taking care of the case but I still have to pay my deductible.  this is a company affiliated with the military which is supposed to help military families lime myself but a*s you can see all they are worried about is taking our money and not helping us at all. anyone that is transferring to hawaii should reconsider moving into military housing operated by forest city.
