These people came by solociting my neighborhood one day. They told me that I had storm damage and insisted that I call in an insurance claim. the sales person did not even do an inspection on my roof. I was talked into having them build my new roof after they somehow got my roof approved by my insurance company. They insisted that I give them a "deposit' BEFORe they even did the work. The materials were brought in from another city and was placed on my driveway. Not even on my roof.
When they were done with my roof, there were nails and garbage left all over my yard and in the neighbors yards. About a month later, it rained very hard for several days. My roof was leaking badly from the fireplace area and along the back porch. I called the company to let them know that the job was very sloppy and that I had 1 more leak than before they even started. I told them that the problem must be taken care of because I was going out of town for several weeks. They said that they would fix the problem immediately.
When I came fome from my vacation, I was shocked to see standing water inside my house. They did not fix the leaks and I had to call in another claim because of the water damage.
I just want to let people know about these people and that if you see them in your neighborhood....do not answer the door and STAY AWAY from these people. There are plenty of good roofing companies that sare local here and I just want to warn anyone that comes in contact with Green Rhino Builders. BEWARE.

After doing over 250 roofs in the last year in the Charleston area I believe that this is not a real complaint rather a recently dismissed sales person but lets talk about real facts not opinions.
First off how many homeowners know the difference between a roof load and a ground drop of the materials. The fact is most of the time in the Charleston area the houses are too steep to put on the roof. Also only about half of the distribution companies will even put the materials on the roof due to saftey and insurance purposes. I believe 99.99% of homeowners would not even be aware of these issues.
Fact #2 Insurance companies require that the homeowner or policy holder file a claim. There is no way possible for us to even have a homeowners insurancy policy number unless they called in the claim themselves.
Fact#3 There are no shingle manufacturers in the state of South Carolina that I am aware of that are making the shingles in state. It should be painstakingly obvious that all shingles will be brought into Charleston from another city because there are no manufacturing plants in Charleston. We use only quality distributors that are local to Charleston area.
Fact #4 Our company policy is to only collect a deposit after the materials are delivered to the homeowner house. We are the only company that I know of that does not require a deposit. We put trust in our customers before we ask them to trust us!
Fact #5 We have 0 complaints with the BBB. Why? because we take care of our customers! The BBB if needed would arbitrate a complaint where as on this forum the person posting can randomly post a complaint without any real basis.
Fact #6 We are local company. Licensed Bonded and Insured and registered with the state
Fact #7 We are certified through GAF which is the single largest shingle manufacturer in the world that has been in business for over 100 years. As GAf has put their stamp on us we believe our customers will as well.
