Lorenzen wants to trash talk my mother, well i'm going to trash talk his mother did a swell job in raising him. His mother eats dog food because she is to lazy to get a job or at least get food stamps to provide food for her kid's like lorenzen and didn't raise him to be a decent person like the rest of team rebuttal.

The Home Depot offer a year-round, 10 percent discount, up to a $500 maximum, at our U.S. stores to all active duty military personnel, reservists, retired or disabled veterans and their immediate families.My problem with this is; as a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, I spent 14 straight months in combat venturing into North Vietnam making constant guerrilla attacks on military and sometime civilian targets. I constantly had to carry back injured or deceased soldiers that were in my unit as we made these attacks in groups of 2 or 3 and NEVER allowed anyone to not return. My question is; Why is my service not as appreciated as the retired or disabled veteran who may have never seen any combat service? It is not my fault that I didn't fall off a truck or get drunk and break my leg falling down in the barracks to be a cost burden on the US for life with a disability. I served honorably and am proud of my service. It is a slap in my face for Home Depot to say they have a veterans discount policy but I'm not good enough to be included.

This thread started out as an erroneous report regarding Home Depot not honoring their veteran's discount program.
Apparently that initial report was proven to be false or, at the least poorly researched. And thanks to those who responded with facts and no acrimony!
Then we have some incompetent baboon with the handle of "Charles" posting totally off-topic replies. That, in and of itself, is bad enough but along come the usual carpers jumping on this moronic "Charles" with more off-topic responses.
Some one posts a graphic about trolls which contained some valid info - did anyone heed a single word from that graphic?
Apparently not - all the self-appointed and self-annointed ROR polizie continued to pester the inept and ill-informed Charles who then proceeded to continue his rantings which, in turn generated even more "police actions" by the self-consecrated polizie.
And, yes, this response is both off-topic AND denigrating. It is intended to be exactly that. If you people cannot respond to a report and keep your responses on-topic then you are no better than this Charles and others of his ilk.

Either way, the Home Depot does, in fact still give the military discount, as I just left the Sarasota, FL. store at University and I-75 and got mine! And, I got it 3 times during the week last week, and 2 times the week prior. I even got it on the very day this report was written.
The OP may not have had proper ID or something like that and is lashing out for no valid reason.
And, it cannot be used on a business account, or for business purposes or re-sale.

What Chuckles fails to realize is that we have a Democratic President, Vice-president, Secretary of State and Senate, and have had them for the past 3 1/2 years. Add to that the fact that that BOTH houses of Congress were under Democratic control for many years prior and you can see that the moron doesn't have a clue. Not only was he unable to pass HISTORY in school, he would fail CURRENT EVENTS and CIVICS today. I ignore the people defending Home Depot. They broke the "LAW" when they wrongful fired the Veteran. This people who defend them make me "Sick". That is why these people in "POWER" get away with human rights violations.

Although we cannot understand why this thread has degenerated into a political argument and unverifiable claims which have nothing to do with the original report , we can, however verify that the original report is incorrect.
Email to Home Depot verified that they have been and still are honoring their time-tested 10% Military Discount.
That was further verified by calling three local stores in this area, on-duty managers at all three locations verified the has never been terminated or altered.
As stated earlier, we made a purchase of under US$ 300 on Saturday the 7th of April 2012 and the Military Discount was honored - we were even thanked for our service by the cashier.

would be to adopt the policies in France and parts of Europe, where you've got a job, no matter what, as long as you can keep from dropping dead on the job. Certainly inspires good job performance.
Perhaps the next step would be to continue paying the family when said employee does drop dead.
Guaranteed employment, unions would love this. They like jobs where everyone is even and outstanding performance is strongly discouraged.

I'm a veteran and I don't expect ANYBODY to give me a discount. GI's now receive better compensation than many in civilian life. They have their basic pay, housing, medical, dental, mess privileges or separate rations, combat pay when applicable and free legal consultation. Why would a discount be a requirement?
That just means, to be profitable, a business MUST add to the costs of other customers.
I'm not convinced the OP has much of a legitimate case against this company, even IF what the post is true about the discount being discontinued.
The military draft hasn't been effect for years and the current military is 100% voluntary. I appreciate what our military does, under often difficult conditions, but they went in willingly.

Can you provide a valid source for that information? We have received the 10% discount as late as April 7th 2012 (yesterday).
Even if valid we would hesitate in labling Home Depot as being "nonamerican". Rarely heard any praise sent their way all these years that the discount has been in effect. You cite "difficult times" however they too are effected by the same economic pressures.
So, please cite a reputable source for the information you posted.
