K HOVNANIAN HOMES poor quality builder edison, New Jersey

I hear they are at it again. Not only building poor quality homes and getting worse, they  have one employee here at my development who can't read blueprints, building the homes. Their ripping off their contractors again. I have heard of contractors not getting paid, of their checks bouncing, bills getting lost several times, waiting months to get paid.

Do you realy want to buy a house when everyone building it is angry, and wants revenge against the builder. What is inside the walls of your new home. If you can see defects all over what do you think is hidden inside the walls? Hire an independant home inspector to look at your house prior to closing. If the builder objects or refuses to allow it,  run like hell. A reputable contractor would not object to an inspection.

Damaged hardwood floors,scratched cabinet doors,cracked counter tops, drafty windows, window and door leaks {the water should stay outside}. Mismatched toilets and toilet seats,chipped tubs,leaky faucets, you get the picture, they have had so many lay offs there are very few quality employees left. Many have been reassigned to jobs they don't want so they do as little as possible and cover for each other. this has become a company of liars, cheats and theives. Yeah not paying bills and doing inferior work is theivery and they can't be trusted. I would definitely not recommend this company, I am trying to sell my money pit now, even at a loss. One last item flooded basements, thats always a welcome finish to your house, they look at as an indoor pool and will want to charge you more for the pool. It just never ends.

In closing the State of New Jersey requires home improvement contractors to be licensed, even the guy who seals your drive way, paints a room, or cuts your grass to prevent fraud, so they say. However the large builders are not required to have a home improvment lic. Why, because there would be so many complaints they would not have time to check your grass cutter or painter. Another rippoff by New Jersey, the people who need to be checked aren't, and you suffer.
