i purchase two vehicles from keim pre owned and i feel that i was ripped off especially after trading in my first purchase and was in need of a bigger vehicle.  i was approved for the loan and i went again to keim because i thought that since i was a former customer that i would be able to make the transition into another vehicle with ease and honesty.. i was wrong..  i not only paid a higher price for the vehicle but i had to come up with $2000.00 down payment .. i did agree so that i can get the vehicle right away and after signing the agreement i also purchased the preferred warranty for one year in the amount of $700.00.. after final review of the vehicle there were several issues that needed to be addressed and fixed.. the sales manager agreed, his name is john sweeney..and he assured me that it would be taken care of.. he also asked for $300.00 more and told me that i had to pay cash. [continued below]....

...... i didnt have the additional money and told him i would try to get it to him.. i didnt agree with the cash price, but i needed the vehicle.. after several weeks one of the issues .. the automatic sliding door on the passenger right side. had to be fixed, it was not opening and closing and that was noted on the day of the sale and i was reassured that it would be fixed when i brought it in .. when i finally did bring the vehicle in for service the service department tried to fix it themselves so as to save money. this went on for several weeks and each time i took the vehicle home the door still would not operate.  finally i got a little upset and told them that it had to be fixed.  after several other attempts to fix it, finnaly i told them that i want the vehicle and i would like the issue fixed the right way.. they ended up bringing it to nissan dealer where it was inconveniently left over for a few days.. and the issue was then fixed by nissan.. the only other issue that needed to be done was the rust issues under neath the sliding doors.. they agreed and the issue was never fixed.. i needed other service on the vehicle and when i wanted to bring the vehicle in for servife i was told that there was a red flag on my account.  i called john sweeney and asked why...he said that i still owed him 300.00 amnd that he wanted it before i was able to have service on the car. i felt that i was being swindeleed and moreso that i had to pay CASH.. finally i gave him 100.00 and he agreed that i can get service on the vehicle, of which i paid out of pocket.. a few weeks later another issue arose.. the both side doors would not open due to the cold.. i again called for service and again i was turned down because john sweeny wanted the remainnig 200.00 in CASH that i owed.. i did not agree and told him that the rust issue still wasnt fixed.. he did not want to deal with me and several phone calls were made to the dealership but to no avail... all the employees refused to put john sweeney on the phone and also my sales woman ely robinson never returned my calls... several calls again was made and prior to the other issues i got a little adamant with the manager john sweeney and he told me that he was going to call the police and he told me that i will not be allowed there again.. later on like i stated i had the issue of the doors not opening and i called service and again was told no service unless i come up with the 200.00 cash.. i immediately called the office of keim and asked for my sales person ely, and a woman named mary answered and said they were not avaialbe.. i ask to hold on and i left my number several times...  in all factuality, i didnt have to bring my vehicle into them for service, it was not awarranty issue , but i felt that they sold me the vehicle and i wanted them to service the door issue and i knew it woudl be out of pocket... as previously noted, i attempted to get this problem fixed but john sweeny and his staff refused unless i came up with the CAsh .. i asked for the owner/operater of the dealership and all of the employees refused me to speak to him.. his name is lee kerr.... after being outraged i pursued the phone calls so that i can be satisfied as to an explanation of why i had to give him another 200.00 CASH IN ORDER TO HAVE MY VEHICLE SERVICED.. I DIDNT UNDERSTAND WHT A LEGITAMATE BUSINESS WOULD ASK FOR CASH...john sweeney finally got on the phone and told me that if i called him anymore he was gonna call the plice and report me that i was harrassing him..  in turn i called the police and told them my issue, they said it was a civil matter and that i was reported by john sweeney about harrassment. and i was told not to call there ever again.. which brings me to this complaint.  WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS ASKS FOR CASH UP FRONT AND WHY AND ALSO THE SALES PEOPLE AND MANAGERS SELL U A VEHICLE AND ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY, THEY ARE DONE WITH U... THEY LACK COMPASSION, AND PROFESSIONALISM AND SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS IF THEY ARE DISHONEST.  I INTEND TO TAKE THIS MATTER UP LEGALLY BUT IN THE MEANTIME I FEEL THAT THIS BUSINESS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED FOR THESE ISSUES AND I FEEL THAT I WAS TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL, DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AND ALSO HARRASSED AND I FEEL THAT THEY TRY TO SHAKE ME DOWN FOR MONEY SO THAT THEY CAN PUT IT IN THEIR POCKETS.. THIS IS NOT LEGAL... I AM OWED AN APOLOGY AND COMPENSATION NOT JUST FOR THE 300.00 CASH, BUT THE AGGRAVATION AND INCONVENINV THAT I EXPERIENENVE.. I ASLO TRIED TO CANCEL MY WARRANTY AND THEY TOLD ME I COULDNT.. I WOULD LIKE COMPENSATION IN THE AMOUNT OF 300.00 PLUS THE DOWN PAYMENT OF 2,000.00 PLUS THE PAYMENT OF THE WARRANTY OF 700.00

I don't think you understand how to buy a vehicle

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - ()

Are you aware that when you purchase a vehicle you have to pay for it?

It sounds like you wanted the car dealership to give you the vehicle without having to pay the $2000 down payment and the $300 additional payment. Why should they sell you the vehicle for zero down? Those small buy here pay here lots don't have zero down financing. Those BHPH lots cater to people with subprime credit that don't qualify for zero down. You chose the car dealer. Next time go to a different car dealership.

You are pointing fingers at this dealership, but the whole time you kept making promises and not keeping them. That's why you are stuck with BHPH lots now, because this seems to be your preferred method of non-payment.

The best thing for you to do is to buy your vehicles with cash. Then you don't have to worry about the dealership contacting you for the payments all the time.

If you don't have the cash, then go to a bank or credit union and finance the vehicle. If you get your financing lined up first, then you can shop at any car dealership and not have to keep going back to this same dealership.

No matter where you go - if you don't have the cash to pay for it, you will have to finance it and eventually pay for it. No one is going to just give you a car.

Before you say it: I don't work there or at any dealership. But then again, I never walked into a car dealership and asked them to give me a vehicle without paying for it!
